Lunch today at OML was absolutely fantastic! Hamburger steak and onion gravy was delicious. My fried okra and potato salad was out of sight. My dinner roll couldn’t have been any freasher. Wife had burger and onion rings and said they were awesome! Our meals did not disappoint!

I have tried their burgers & pimento sandwich ( I love pimento cheese!). Their fries are okay. They’re usually busy but they are always on top of it.

Did a call in for lunch. Was going to take 25-30 mins which I didn’t mind. The cashier lady was friendly and funny. I ordered the chicken tenders. They were huge. They were nice. The mac and cheese was good as well as the fries. I like the huge portions, had leftovers.

Due to a lack of staff Oh My Lard has been doing weekly orders lately and not opening the restaurant. We order a chicken pot pie and frozen cheese biscuits. They were both amazing and each to cook. What a great idea for meals to go or catering. Shop local.

This was our first time at Oh My Lard. We decided to stop in because everyone raves about the food and the owner seems to have a huge heart for the community. We love supporting local businesses, so we figured it was the perfect fit. We had breakfast. The food didn’t disappoint. The French toast and eggs were delicious. The server was kind. At one point, the owner came out and made her rounds to all of the tables, greeting her customers, but bypassed us. Again, it was our first time in her restaurant. We felt a bit unwelcome at that point. Maybe she is shy, I don’t know. But I do know new business keeps businesses going. The place needs dire cleaning. If the kitchen looks like the rest of the restaurant, I’m concerned. It’s an old building, but a day’s cleaning and a coat of paint will spruce it up nicely. We plan to return. The food and prices were well worth it. Hopefully, the owner accepts constructive criticism gracefully. 🙂

It a great home town restaurant. The drive thru window saved my life this morning. The service was pleasant, fast and economical. I have worked in Elm City NC for a few years and I have seen the staff get fresh food everyday, for the customer’s satisfaction. I recommend trying this great little business for yourself. I think it’ll be a pleasant surprise.

By far one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Met up for lunch here and it was such a cute little country eatery. I cannot get over the lemon blueberry cake either! So yummy! Cannot wait to come back and try the pemento cheese and fried green tomatoes!

Don’t overlook this little hole in the wall place in Elm City… because if you do… you will regret it. Bring your appetite because I promise you are going to want to order one of everything on the menu. Breakfast, lunch, desserts, and Oh My Lard! their cheese biscuits… everything is flavorful and mouthwatering. Not only is the food delicious but the customer service is always pleasant and their dedication to the community really speaks volumes about the owner and her staff.

Food was terrific but service not very good on this particular day. Another coworker and myself were there and there wasn’t more than three other patrons there in addition to us at any one time. Besides the owner (who’s busy doing the majority of the cooking), I know I counted at least three other staff including our waitress. We never once had our waitress come back to our table after bringing our food to check on us, refill our drinks, or anything. They do great desserts here and I was actually going to order dessert but decided not to. I’m not trying to put down the establishment because like I said, the food is great and I’m sure the “less than stellar” service was probably just a fluke hence the reason they get three stars (and not one or zero). Heck, I’ll give it another try myself I’m sure. There is a lot of things on the menu they I would like to try and they have tasty everyday lunch specials.

Oh My Lard serves delicious food prepared with love by Sherry Bass. The smile on her face and her welcoming servers make it a pleasure to be at Oh My Lard. I enjoy seating on a stool at the counter and visiting with the people around me. Sherry also makes wonderful cakes, I have purchased several for family birthdays over the last few months. They are delicious cakes, and quite creative to me. She makes a Ho Ho cake, and it lives up to its name sake. My daughter was always a fan of Little Debbie Zebra Cakes, I mentioned this to Sherry and she created a perfect Zebra inspired cake for her birthday. I plan to have Sherry prepare almost all of my Christmas dinner this year as well.
I enjoy being able to eat at a place where everyone is happy you are there! Feel a bit like home to me.
