I was thoroughly disappointed with House of Chang. First, it was expensive! $40 for two combos is not typical Chinese food prices, but if the food was worth it, fine. Well…it’s not! Not only did I wait over 30 minutes for my food, the rice was hard and the shrimp roll had a weird taste. Sure, they give you a lot, but that was my first and last time ordering from there. Not worth my time or money.

I love this place, it’s by far my favourite American Chinese food restaurant. It’s hard to find good vegetarian/vegan options at takeout places but this by far is the best and I love the flavour and the quality. It’s not the most budget friendly but it is worth it.

Purchase today 12/3/23, Pork Lo Mein. General Tso’s Chicken, Orange Chicken, Eggs Rolls & Crab Rangoon. The best thing was the Crab Rangoon. I used th love to go to this restaurant back in the nineties. Have not being in there in about ten years. Decided to change from the Chinese restaurants in the area and go to House Of Chang. Food was Terrible. . Will not go back there again.

I have been a customer for over 15 years. I have always been satisfied with service and quality of food. However, today was an exception. I ordered pepper steak, 3 pc chicken wings with fries and chicken lo mein. I called in and picked up order on way home. When I arrived home my daughter open her lo mein and removed contains from container and placed on plate. Less then a minute of eating she used her fork and pulled out a long strand black hair wrapped in with noodles. She immediately returned food to container. We examined the rest of food. Although my vegetables were chopped too large and under cooked, it was ok. I decided to return the lo mein especially since we are in a pandemic.
I did not expect the push back when I went to return the item. I open the container and showed the hair. I was insulted. She said she will credit me, but the hair was not theirs. I asked do your cooks wear hair nets? She would not answer. I asked several times, do your cooks wear hair nets? She repeatedly said, not our hair. Well I have short curly salt pepper hair. It’s not mine either. I also told her anyone could have left the strand of hair who has access to your kitchen. It could have come from one of your vendors. My girls don’t have weaves and one of my daughter’s hair is shorter than mine.
Look, three of my children have worked in the food industry. So there are going to be situations where things like this happen. But to accuse a loyal customer for something as foul as this is unacceptable and unprofessional. I’m done!
