I just ordered my tuna sushi and presentation was great but the taste was just wonderful. Tuna was buttery and fishy in a pleasant way and the hint of wasabi was not my fav but still delicious .
Now I realize that my first impression was influenced by the fact that we were going around 2-3pm, which is slow for any restaurant. Let me tell you, the difference between fresh sushi vs. sushi that has been floating around for awhile is out of this world. Their fresh sushi is phenomenal. I’d recommend going exactly at noon or around dinnertime because there are a lot more people, so the atmosphere is more lively and the floating sushi is nice and fresh.
One of my favorite things about this place is that all of the plates are the same price, so you don’t have to fixate on the color of the plate like you do at other rotating sushi places. I have not yet tried their hibachi dinners, but dining here has become such a special treat for our family that I surely will someday.
The place is always empty. Gee, wonder why.
But, I like the concept of the boats, serving yourself and paying by the plate for sushi.
Used to come to this place ALL the time 15-20 years ago.
You can have a quick lunch or take your time and enjoy.
But, just not as good as it once was. Pieces of sushi are small and, last time, just didnt taste good or have good soft texture like it should.
That’s not what you want in a sushi place. Too many other GOOD choices available.
Heck I can go to Jewel in Bartlett, they make it fresh there!!!
The dinning room is always empty. Menus are dirty. This is the worst Japanese/sushi establishment in St Charles. Better off picking up at a grocery store. I left unsatisfied and ripped off.
House of Tokyo, more like like the House of No No.
This is by far the best sushi bar in the area. The owner and the staff provide a fun experience as well as excellent food. I can’t speak for the hibachi, but I always hear laughter from that part of the restaurant so it must be a similar experience. Actually witnessed a proposal happen there tonight, which is a testament to how nice this place actually is. If you are a fan of sushi and are looking for the most value for you money, this place will pleasantly surprise you every time.
