The food is absolutely worth the price. Every dish was well-prepared, flavorful and beautifully presented. The portion sizes were generous and the quality exceeded expectations. A great value for a satisfying and enjoyable meal and good service.

TLDR: Drinks were great, food not worth it. Price doesn’t justify the food in my opinion. Went after work yesterday because I heard good things and honestly the wine was GOOD I got proper tipsy and the wine options were great. Plus I still made happy hour so the drinks were affordable. The food though… I got a charcuterie board and was just expecting more. I think they charged me $14 for a literal piece of cheese lmao and gave me a tea spoon of jelly and mustard and 3 little pieces of pickle? Felt embarrassing to call it a charcuterie board, I’ve had way better in the city for way less – like The Lauvaux, etc. Anyways I thought maybe it was a fluke and ordered the duck confitt to give it another chance and that also fell flat… at the end of the night I was left with a $80 bill and was still starving so had to buy a burger at a local spot. Would’ve been a bad review but THE STAFF were LOVELY <3 every person had a positive attitude and made a warm environment. Also the restaurant is super cozy (went to the one in Chelsea) My recommendation is to go with friends or a date to DRINK and catch up. Will try the West Village location to maybe give it another chance.

Our second visit to Vin Sur Vingt – and unfortunately has gone a bit downhill since our previous visit. Service was a bit slow – it felt like they should have had more servers. We were ready to get a nice bottle of red (a Bordeaux), but neither of the bottles we wanted were available – disappointing from a wine bar. Food was ok – not quite as outstanding as our first visit last year. Our steak was cooked to our request (medium), however the outside was charred (in a bad way- the burnt taste came through). The moules were very good. We wish service had been a bit more attentive (it also didn’t help that they sat us beside a group with an unruly toddler who ended up throwing her bottle at my wife and hitting her in the face – not the restaurants fault, but definitely put a damper on the experience).

This is unreal, waiter smoking outside in front of the restaurant.
I ordered a steak tartare, which I love to make, no taste no cornichon, so seasonings, what a shame. Price $36.00!
And the chef is at the bar doing nothing, looking at me. This place is a joke, please avoid this touristic trap.

The service and atmosphere were great. It was very cold in the restaurant- they were not using the hit, hoping that hit from the kitchen will be enough- it was NOT! Escargot were burned and looks like done at least in the morning, not now. Franch fries was not “franch ” stile – potato was not peeled. Stake was good, although portion was so small – probably due to restaurant week special. Noce place, but not coming back – plenty of other/better options.

lovely meal with lovely staff! we ordered across the menu – red wine and white wine, duck confit salad, French onion soup, fondue, the salmon, steak frites, and crème brûlée and champagne to end!

we didn’t realize there was a happy hour when we arrived, so we all enjoyed $10/glass wine to start.

i personally did the prix fixe for $50 where i got an appetizer, entree, and dessert and they were all full size and fresh and delicious.

the steak frites was a very generous serving and definitely enough for 2 people.

the vibe was so warm and cozy and felt like we were in montmartre!

will definitely be back!

I took a chance and popped in early without a booking. I’m so glad I did. The best escargot I can remember having & mussels that were outstanding. You can’t go wrong with a set menu. The music is so pleasing—not too loud. Highly recommend.

Grilled octopus was cooked perfectly. Onion soup was ok, cheese shell was so hard that I could not pinch a hole. After this difficulty, soup underneath was great. Chocolate mousse was not too sweat, with enough flavors to make a great dessert. Overall, this place provides one of the best deals in NYC
