This is one of my favorite local spots! The food is delicious and never misses. I always get an al pastor and a chorizo taco. It’s affordable, quick, and easy! Their other dishes are also super yummy. A few tables if you want to dine in, but also still tastes great as takeout.

Came here at 8 pm on a Sunday, normally I get nervous going somewhere late because it’s about to close but the staff was amazing, waitress great and attentive, food and drinks came out fast and was soooo good. Excited for my leftovers!! If I lived near here I’d come all the time. Definitely recommend.

Found this place on google maps because I had a hankering for tacos and boy did this place satisfy. Situated like a bodega with grocery items stacked against the walls, a small seating area in the middle, and a place to the right for cooking the food, this place has it all. Not to mention, this establishment is very clean and has a restroom!! Parking will be a little challenging but double park where you can and grab your tacos to go!
I ordered a sudero taco, chorizo taco, and a chicken burrito. The two tacos were amazing and hot. The chorizo was salty, crispy, and full of flavor. The suadero (flank steak) was cooked perfectly, a little fatty, and had a tender bite. It came with some lime, onion, and radish pieces. Two sauces came with the tacos: one orange hot sauce which was mild for me and not extremely flavorful but that I enjoyed and another green not spicy sauce that was mild in flavor and brought a freshness to the tacos. The burrito was alright in flavor but I liked that it came with rice and avocado. I didn’t like the chicken in the burrito as much as the sudadero or chorizo but it was good.
The tacos here are on the smaller size but the prices are the lowest I’ve seen anywhere and the flavors are the bomb so I’d definitely come back here to eat more tacos. Less than $3 for a delicious hot taco?! Say no more!
Also, the people who work here are so kind and pleasant so a big shout out to the workers!

HIDDEN GEM. I love this place. I have been here 4 times this week.
They make classic Mexican home cooked grab and go food. It usually takes 5-15 minutes to get your order if you walk in.
I’ve had their tacos, burritos, the Mole enchiladas(not on the menu), their nachos. Everything is excellent fresh and is a authentic approach to Mexican cooking.
They make this salsa Del árbol that is just spicy enough, savory, smokey, and simply delicious in everything’s. They also make a green salsa that’s fresh and bright perfect for people that don’t want spice but a bit of flavor.
They have daily specials that move around quite a bit, sometimes they even have classic comfort food, and have vegetarian options.
Eat her for the FOOD, not the atmosphere, this is a quaint family business that run out of a grocery store.
Coming from Los Angeles the standard for Mexican food is very high and El Don exceeds expectations, I have found my go to spot for beautiful Mexican dishes in Sunnyside.

This place is amazing. If you’re a fan of authentic Mexican food, such as Tacos, Tortas, Cemitas, Tostadas, Quesadillas, etc…you’re in for a treat. After eating 3 tacos ($1.75 each), I couldn’t wait to order more. Yes, these tacos are extremely addicting, you’ve been warned, but I’m not complaining, the food here is simply delicious.
Over the weekends, they serve a variety of traditional Mexican food, such as Tamales, Consomé, Pozoles, Champurrado, etc. This place is also a deli / grocery store, which sells Mexican products. Employees are very friendly and attentive. If you’re around the area, don’t doubt to visit this place. You won’t be disappointed. Great food!

(4.3/5 rating) so I tried their cheese only quesadilla, Al pastor taco & carnitas tostada. Their cheese quesadilla was my fav. Super cheesy with the green picante (spicy sauce) on point. The Al pastor taco was was on point – I could’ve ate like 3 more of them! The carnitas tostada was okay. Wouldn’t really get carnitas again. I think the al pastor meat was way better! They also have the option to order directly from their website for pick up which I love ! No fees and it was ready on time. Prices are affordable! Worth a try !

Authentic food. I was so happy they had tinga tacos. The orange sauce is delicious and spicy! Inside a convienence store and has tables and TV playing La Rosa de Guadalupe. I’m definitely going back because the service was on point too and the prices are actually affordable and representative of authentic Mexican food.

This was my second time here in one week. The Al pastor tacos and bistec tacos for $1.99 are a no brainer. They’re the authentic Mexican double flower tortilla tacos, and come with the cut up radishes and lime on the side. Where else can you get delicious tacos for 2 bucks in NYC? I also ordered the lengua tacos, a bit more at $3.50 a pop but definitely worth a try. First time here I had the flour tortilla bistec quesadilla and that was delicious, and good in size for $7, this time around I tried the corn tortilla chicken quesadilla and the corn tortilla was a little too thick and mealy for me, definitely gonna stick with the regular flower tortilla one moving forward. The people behind the counter are always very nice, and get the order in quickly, the wait time is about 10 minutes because they prepare everything fresh. Make sure to ask for extra green sauce if you like that as I do, I ordered 10 tacos and they only gave me one sauce, but I’m not complaining, just giving the heads up. I took my food to go both times, but they do have a few tables in there if you want to eat in. The setup is very bodega like with the tables in the center, and surrounded by refrigerators and Mexican goods you can purchase. Looking forward to trying more food items from this place and will definitely be back. They accept Apple Pay and cards for purchases over $5.
