Mastros has a nice atmosphere. However, our service was less than acceptable. Ten minutes into being seated we were still waiting for menus and water. As a guest first experience at this restaraunt, I was disappointed. My steak was rare verses medium, the shrimp in my appetizer was flavorful but tough. The lobster in my lobster Mac n cheese was also tough. We didn’t see it waiter again until the end of dinner service. Our bread, we paid for was removed from the table and tossed.

Just got home from an incredible birthday dinner @ Mastros tonight. Conor & Jackson delivered amazing customer service and both went above and beyond to ensure that our party was taken care of. We came with several young children and they were very accommodating and did not rush us. All of our appetizers and entrees tasted incredible and our drinks were excellent as well. My only small grievance is that we were charged for our birthday desserts when they said they would be comped. But they did take the time to split our check upon request and I’m sure it was a honest mistake considering we ordered a lot of food. The desserts were amazing though so I honestly didn’t mind. Mastros is definitely our new go to favorite restaurant for special occasions. To be honest, I’m not exactly sure why this establishment has received so many negative reviews. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. The staff were all amazing and extremely friendly. Like most high end restaurants these days, expect to get charged for everything and anything at Mastros including the bread. I’ve also eaten at Steak 48 in Carmel Valley and I enjoyed our dining experience at Mastros much better. We will definitely come back to dine here! I highly recommend going to Mastros and experiencing it for yourselves, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion.

First I would like to say the staff was fantastic, from the staff at the entrance to the staff who seated and served me,they were all very nice and attentive. I ordered myself a drink which was made correctly and also ordered Oyster Rockerfeller which was very tasty, they staggered my appetizer and my main course perfectly, as most restaurants seem to bring everything back to back, i was actually able to enjoy my dish while also enjoying my drink before the main dish arrived. I ordered a steak that was medium rare and it was cooked to perfection, my only slight gripe was I would have liked the steak to have been seasoned a bit better but it was still good. The Mac and Cheese was absolutely fantastic! Price was what was expected, I spent about $230 which included tip and it was just myself eating alone, I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a 5 star meal plus a great staff. I will definitely return.

Went here for a birthday. Arrived at 6:15 and it was empty. When they seated us they first put us right next to a waiters station. Upon asking they easily moved us to the next table.
Our waiter was very nice and professional. Everyone there was very nice
I had an apple martini which bubbled for quite some time – interesting and tasted great. )Tried to upload video but it wouldn’t let me ) They also leave the shaker – almost another drink left in there.
We skipped appetizers as we had a big lunch
I ordered the rack of lamb and the others ordered bone in filet. (Small bone) We also had broccolini, lobster mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese for the table to share. The broccoli was VERY salty and we mentioned it to the waiter who was nice enough to say he would remove it. We didn’t want to try it again. We each had some Pinot Noir wine by the glass with dinner which was very nice. I can’t remember the name but it began with a C. And then for dessert, the piéce de resistance – the Mastro’s butter cake! Served warm with ice cream- it is absolutely delicious!! The music was also very good. The girl was in the bar area and could really sing and they were popular, happy songs. She was in the bar area and apparently they have music 7 days a week.
They brought the bill but sadly they had failed to remove the charge for the salty broccolini. I pointed it out and they removed it immediately. I felt funny to do that as it was a small amount compared to the bill but I felt it should have been done as they said they would. As we left around 9 pm the restaurant was pretty full.
Overall – It was a great night and my daughter loved her birthday dinner – especially the butter cake

Finally! After all these years San Diego finally gets a Mastro’s and it was worth the wait. Situated in the old Del Frisco’s, an amazing location with a view of the water, we have the best steakhouse in town. Mastro’s hit on every level. Great food, vibes are high, and the customer service is excellent. As soon as you walk in they are taking excellent care of you. Personally I like to sit in the bar area where they have the live music. I always order enough to share and you really can’t go wrong here. The sides, you won’t regret the wild mushroom and black truffle gnocchi, garlic truffle cauliflower is awesome and who doesn’t like garlic mashed potatoes. Pick any steak you want. They are all
Top tier. The one thing you can’t sleep on, the dessert. Their butter cake is easily one of the best desserts I’ve had. They also have. Seasonal flavor. Trust me, get it. It’s big enough to share and so so good!

First time in Mastro’s , I had high expectations and I was very disappointed. The service was great but the food wasn’t. The bread is good, I ordered a lobster bisque and I think that was the best dish although it was very rich and thick but it had plenty of lobster chunks in there. The filet mignon I ordered was overcooked and the flavor wasn’t good, as sides we had mac n cheese, creamed spinach and mashed potatoes and any of those were impressive. The buttercake is not good either, I don’t know why is so popular.

We got Rihanna as our server and she was amazing! The only negative to this restaurant was their chopped salad, way too many olives. From the hostess, to the server, and meeting the GM and bartender, they were all great! We went there for a birthday and it was worth it. It’s hard finding a good fine dining restaurant worth going to. We will be back soon!

Made reservations for Valentine’s Day. It was an awesome experience. Service was excellent. Adam was our guy. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was Incredible. We ordered a wagu Rib eye, but it was sold out so we opted for the bone in Ribeye. I was not disappointed. The steak is huge.and definitely shareable. Lobster mash potatoes were amazing. Desert was excellent. We ordered a butter cake. Awesome! Definitely a dining experience you don’t want to miss.

Mastro’s is the best fine dining experience in San Diego. We loved Shauna, our server, and her assistant Alexander who made our experience incredible. We started off with a fresh crab cake that just melted in your mouth. The filet was cooked to perfection and the scalloped potatoes were to die for. The Mastro’s team even called me this morning (the day after our dinner) to personally thank our party for dinning with them. Did not disappoint and we will be back soon!
