Excellent food and a very nice family! The food is proper, feels homemade. Portion is great and ingredients seem like good quality.

The wait can be a bit long sometimes so order in advance.

The place is also well priced.

Dar Mariam is truly a gem. The food tastes like it was made at home by your own mom. Very comforting, flavorful, and full of love. The vibes are so warm and homey that you instantly feel welcomed the moment you walk in.

I honestly don’t understand why some people complain about the service. When I went, the restaurant was very busy, and the team was still attentive, kind, and doing their best. They’re a new small family business, so of course there might have been moments early on when they didn’t have enough waiters. But from what I experienced, the service was great. They were kind and very attentive.
If you want authentic, delicious food and a cozy atmosphere that feels like home, Dar Mariam is the place. I’ll definitely be coming back! I recommend the hanneth or lamb Mandi, kibbdeh, & jareesh they all were so delicious. This was the best Kuwaiti food I’ve had!

It was the best Iraqi/Gulf Area food we have had in this area and we have been living here for 40 years in the DMV area. We had the chicken Makboos, and lamb Mandi. It was truly home made food made by your mother. We are so impressed we can’t stop talking about the food. Please stay in business for ever or until I die. PLEASE

Love Dar Mariam! already one of my favorite spots in the DMV. The restaurant is family-owned by a mother–daughter duo and everything feels so welcoming. The food tastes truly home-cooked and fresh.

We ordered the stuffed grape leaves, kibbeh, Mutabbaq Zubaidi (pan-fried fish stuffed with spices and loomi, served with rice and tamarind sauce), and chicken machboos — every dish was full of flavor, but the grape leaves and fish were a game changer.

If you’re looking for authentic halal Arabian Gulf cuisine, this is definitely a place you need to add to your list.

I just had the most amazing dish of (mechbous/makbous/kabsa — or call it whatever you like) I’ve ever had outside the Arabian Gulf area, and I’m honestly stunned! I never expected to find such authentic, high-quality Arabian Gulf cuisine in this part of the world. Most rice dishes I’ve tried in the DMV were disappointing to me as a very picky foodie, but here, every bite was beyond expectations — rich, flavorful, and absolutely unforgettable. Huge thanks to Maryam for her kindness and generosity; she’s such a wonderful person, and you can truly feel the heart behind the food. You’ll definitely be seeing me here again and again! ️

Halal Middle Eastern restaurant (Iraqi). Food is great. Limited space for few tables. Per the owner the meat comes from a local farms in Hagerstown or Germantown area and is hand slaughtered halal. I recommend it.

The restaurant offers a fantastic selection of Middle Eastern dishes, and everything we tried tasted incredibly fresh and well-seasoned. The chicken was tender and perfectly spiced, and the freshly baked bread took the whole meal to another level. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and take pride in preparing each dish.

Portions are generous, prices are very reasonable for the quality, and the overall experience is top-tier. Whether you’re looking for a quick lunch, a family dinner, or a place to bring friends, this spot is a gem.

I’ll definitely be coming back—Vienna needed a place like this! Highly recommended.

This place is an absolutely amazing hidden gem. Inside feels a bit like a cafe, but the food is absolutely astonishingly amazing. My 21month old daughter ate her heart out! The pic is of the dish my wife got; it was astonishing. Their shawarma plate was also amazing.

Support this all-female kick ass restaurant! I want it to be around for years to come.
