Our server was nice. I love that this is a BLACK-owned business. I appreciate the waiting area with books and a chess set. Gave our children something to do. I understand how hard it is for Black establishments to get the loans needed to have really nice buildings and such, but this place was a little more of a dive than I would’ve liked for it to be. Simple upgrades to the tables, chairs, and fixtures would go a long way. The place could also use a deep cleaning. That said, the food was decent. The potatoes were burnt as was the bottom of my daughter’s pancake. The turkey bacon was also pretty overdone. My husband said his chicken was OK after he added salt, pepper, and hot sauce. I thought the grits were REALLY good and the eggs were fresh.

I noticed the head chef (owner maybe?) made a point to stop by and check on patrons. I thought that was nice even though he didn’t acknowledge anyone at our table. Overall, I give the place a B -.

The owner is absolutely amazing and his energy follows. The food and atmosphere is so calming and energetic at the same time. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE PANCAKES WIT DA EDGES AND THE FALL APART SALMON WITH THE TREMENDOUS FLAVOR!! We will absolutely be back as regulars! 10/10 recommended!

Friends took us their for brunch. We were the first ones in there that day. Lots of art on the walls. The gentleman was very polite and nice. The food takes a bit to get to you but that is what you get for cooked to order. Nothing pre cooked. I had the cinnamon roll pancakes. Everything came with 3 three eggs cooked as you like and a side. Everything was delicious! The pancake was HUGE! My friends had the funnel cake french toast and they said it was good. It looked so thick. Great place all around.

Fun hole in the wall with home-cooked meal vibes. Couldn’t of asked for a better breakfast and the service was fantastic! We are from California and this was just what we needed and a great change of pace.

Small business but high class service! Went on Easter so not a lot of business but the food was fantastic. I had funnel cake French toast and it was sweet but not too sweet with fresh blueberries. My husband had chicken and waffles and loved it as well. Really nice gentlemen working there and great music playing. Highly recommend. Would return!

So this is the first time I’ve been to this restaurant since its relocation and again it didn’t disappoint. Dover has a handful of restaurants that are good… like 3 and this by far is our favorite. Considering that I drove from DC with my wife just to get get brunch should say alot. My wife got the chicken and waffles and I got the fish and grits . Crispy well seasoned batter and love in every waffle and the fish and grits had that authentic southern taste. Friendly staff, great food, very good atmosphere. I will do a repeat visit soon. They are lucky to have the BNL reside in their small town!

My friend invited me here for brunch. The environment was relaxed and it felt sort of like home. We were greeted as soon as we entered and instructed that we could sit anywhere. I was amused by the names of the menu items; I appreciate creativity. Everything sounded good so we were unsure what to order. Our server made great suggestions, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu by the sound of it. I ordered the Pancakes Wit Da Edges and my friend ordered Shrimp and Grits. We both loved our meals. And the portions were worth it! Our server was patient when we were indecisive with our order, kind, and checked in on us to make sure we had all we needed. It was nice to visit a place that offers dine-in during this time, but I’m glad to know that they have a delivery option as well. I definitely will visit again.

Amazing spot! The fresh lemonade was perfect. Got the chicken tendies and Cajun fries basket. Wow. Fries were chicken fried with some sides and their po’sauce on the side. Solid delicious combo. The chicken was on point too. Love their spot too. The walls are filled with excellent paintings from local artists, a lot for sale. I couldn’t recommend this place more. My only complaint is I live a few states away and can’t come here more often

Wanted to dine in, but when I came in, tables had not been wiped and food was on the floor. Could be kept cleaner. Chicken and shrimp were bland, only thing with flavor were the sauces. I spent almost $40 here and it was just nasty. The artwork around the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Maybe they will improve their menu in the future.

I want this place to do well! Very friendly staff. They work hard.

FOOD
Got the fried/crispy salmon and grits with a side order of cajun fries. It was enough food for two people. Salmon wasn’t fried but was still tasty. Red sauce was too salty and was all over the dish. Grits and toasted bread were excellent. Fries came stuck together and the seasoning was not very cajun.

ATMOSPHERE
Loved the black art, but please invest in an interior decorator. The place has a lot of potential.

SERVICE
Attentive staff. Unfortunately the kitchen is very slow. My guess is this place doesn’t have a commercial kitchen or enough cooks.

If I lived in Dover, I would return!
