matcha floats were incredible. The matcha itself was rich and smooth, and the vanilla soft serve was super creamy. They serve it in their special Valimaki style, where you can add things like hojicha or extra matcha on top, which makes it even better.
The Japanese fruit sandwiches were another favourite. The bread was soft, the fruit was fresh, and the whole thing looked almost too pretty to eat. Honestly, every item that came out was so photogenic. If you love matcha, Japanese treats or just really Instagrammable food, this café is definitely worth a visit.
P.S. the handwritten ‘arigato gozaimasu’ on each paper bag is a really thoughtful and amazing attention to detail!

So excited about trying their softserve and sundae, perhaps my expectation was a bit too high?
We had dinner a block away and walked over for dessert. Who wouldn’t want softserve on a hot day? We got a black sesame softserve and a sundae. The softserve itself was just ok. The black sesame syrup was a bit too sweet and you can’t really taste anything else. The sundae has more components : mochi in green tea powder, red bean, pocky stick, cookie, and held up better. Overall as softserve goes, it’s not as good as Indigo cow’s Hokkaido milk softserve. I think with softserve, quality of milk really matters.
Matcha deluxe sundaes has matcha jelly, matcha custard, masta rusk, matcha sauce and a special matcha topping. MATCHA HEAVEN The Kurogoma & Kinako deluxe sundaes has black sesame pudding, black sesame custard, roasted soy bean rusk, black sesame syrup, a matcha cracker red beans AND roasted soy bean mochi $11 each for a soft serve with all the toppings you could ever think of ❤️ it does melt realllly fast tho :/
It’s not overwhelming, just perfectly balanced. Definitely give it a try.
Their cookie ice cream was good. It has red bean, so if you are not a fan of it, then get something else. They have a variety of options to choose from.
I had the yuzu flavor and my friend got the kuro goma (black sesame). The base is the same for both—dense, creamy, and super satisfying. The difference comes from the syrup on top.
The yuzu was really refreshing. The flavor was bright and citrusy without being too strong or too sweet. Just a really nice balance.
The kuro goma was also great. They grind the sesame in-house, and you can really taste that deep, nutty flavor. It didn’t taste artificial at all—just rich and smooth.
I also tried the 206 curry, which is their original Japanese-style curry rice. It had a good amount of spice, but for me it was a little too salty. Still, the flavor overall was solid.
I’d definitely go back just for the soft serve. It really stood out (Hot take: liked it better than Indigo cow)
