Fresh Restaurant – Est. 2012 Overcoming adversity from the very beginning, Fresh opened its doors just two months prior to the devastating Hurricane Sandy. Although initially challenged by the storm’s aftermath which affected our original space, we bounced back stronger, reopening in 2013. Starting with a cozy capacity of 35 in our primary dining area, we’ve since grown, boasting an additional upstairs dining space for 20 guests and an inviting patio that accommodates 30. At Fresh, we pride ourselves on marrying high-quality ingredients with innovative culinary techniques, promising our patrons an unforgettable dining journey. Our dedication to the community shines through as we consistently support local farms and suppliers.

Had a really great experience here. The staff was welcoming, the food was fresh and full of flavor, and the whole place has a relaxed but polished vibe. Everything came out quickly, and the service was attentive without feeling pushy. Great value and an overall excellent meal. Definitely coming back soon!

This place is phenomenal, growing up in NYC I was surrounded by quality Italian, Italian American etc—this could easily compete with back home.
The food is great and the service is superior, at your beck and call. We sampled several desserts—the tiramisu wins for me as a coffee lover, but the carrot cake and Italian cheesecake were also fantastic. Highly recommend this place!

My husband and I went there for our anniversary on Wednesday. It was the second time we visited and the staff was just as delightful as the first time. The food was delicious and fresh! Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a friendly, but classy environment and an amazing food selection.

We had an octopus and a shrimp appetizer which were amazing. For dinner we each had specials. A cod and clam dish with a very well developed tomato based broth and a sweet chili glazed pork chop (recommended medium) with silky potatoes and charred carrots and a soy sauce based plate sauce. I thought the medium was a bit towards rare for my liking in the very center but was delicious otherwise. We went for an anniversary, and a rowdy table of 8 with some hearing issues made for a less than stellar atmosphere. Other diners rolling eyes or choosing outdoor seating made it known it wasn’t just us, but all other times it’s great date night atmosphere. The have a perfect bruchetta when you are seated, neither too crunchy nor too soggy. The bread has a scent of rosemary without being overpowering. We’ve been here several times, including an inner courtyard area which was an amazing oasis in covid times. We’ll definitely be back again.

Love this neighborhood gem in the Highlands. Our dinners were fabulous carefully prepared by the chef. I had the grouper and my husband had the succulent short ribs. The entire wait staff was both attentive and friendly. They made us feel special. A great place to come for date night or with friends. We will definitely be coming back soon.

Truly a hidden gem. We reserved a table through Google with no problem. The restaurant was almost empty around 6:30 and picked up around 7:30/8.
I tried the Lobster Carbonara and the Pappardelle allá Norma. Both phenomenal dishes. The tiramisu is made by one of the Italian waiters and he kept saying it was the best in New Jersey. It was absolutely true. My only regret is not getting an appetizer.
Service was a little slower getting a dessert menu and the check.

first enjoyed rigatoni with bolognese and ricotta cheese as the taste of highlands treat

Great Food .. cosy Ambiance.. very welcoming..Mike was excellent in helping us pick the right dish that nite from the specials.. some of being vegetarian and suggested some other side dishes as well .. they do not rush you.. the chef came out to greet us and gave us some checkpea teasers .. the burata cheese and beef Tomato combo is always out of this world.. beat Burrata cheese I ever had..they make everything fresh and get veggies fresh from the market every day .. and also the pastas are made fresh at the restaurant from scratch.. delicious salad and many sides and warm soft breads and yummy pastas
Oh and not to go get the desserts.. we have the chocolate cake and the carrot cake .. Ofcourse made fresh and nice portions
