Food came out of packaging after driving approximately 1 mile alone in its own seat, sad

Last couple of times eating here the food hasn’t been…..quite right. Smelled funny and tasted worse, both the chicken and broccoli and General Tso’s chicken dishes were just off…have eaten here before several times and not had this experience but seems like others in the reviews in the last few months have been having the same thoughts. Even my kids who normally love the chicken and broccoli said “the meat seems funny” which I was thinking the same thing before even saying it out loud.
Might give it one more shot before driving the extra 10 minutes to Rochester for our take out.

Just bought a roasted pork and mushroom for my son. The rice is spoiled with bad smell and can have food poison if tryingto eat. Terrible experience! The price is also not cheap for a small restaurant in Byron! Never come back

I think they recently changed ownership. My wife and I have eaten take-out from here countless times over the last 10+ years. We have always loved their food and thought it was the best Chinese food in the Rochester area. But, now something has changed over the last few months or so. in the last 6 visits our favorite dishes taste weird, the meat quality has really decreased and now has a lot of fat and gristle. I’m even finding pieces of arteries in my pork. I’m hesitant to eat breaded chicken as every piece is a mystery. The home made hot mustard at the counter is also separated and now comes out thick yellow followed by something dark and runny.
I really hope something changes as this is also a convenient location as I live in the Byron area. I just don’t know how I will find out as I can’t bring my self to eat here again.

I have been to every Chinese takeout spot in this general area and this is by far the best. I’ve tried things hear that I didn’t think I liked because every where else’s wasn’t great. Their egg fu young is delicious. My go to is the chicken mei fun. Really good portions. My boyfriend and I share a dinner meal and its still filling. We always get their pork wontons and egg rolls because they are so good.

I would NOT recommend this place. The staff were friendly but not impressed with the food. I ordered the mixed vegetables with brown sauce which according to the website was supposed to come with “Broccoli, carrot, snow peas, mushroom, bok choy, baby corn, water chestnut, bamboo shoots with brown sauce. Served with white rice.” The ENTIRE dish was broccoli, 2 pieces of carrot, 2 snow pea and celery (which was not supposed to come with). VERY disappointed that I paid $15 just for this dish to get all broccoli. By the time I got home, there was sauce that leaked all over the bottom of the bag which made a huge mess. Not impressed at all and would not go back.

Tucked in a little corner of Byron Minnesota is Happy China. They serve traditional Chinese meals with large portions at a very reasonable rate. The food is fantastic. If you call in your order will be ready within 30 minutes. A great alternative from fast food.

It’s a good takeout place, you can sit and eat but it’s not the best for that, and that’s alright. Fried chicken was kinda meh, everything else was top notch.

We get take out from there about once a week and its the best! Far better than anything we’ve had in Rochester. The food is always piping hot and the portions are very generous. The peanut butter chicken is phenomenal.

Happy China, indeed! These folks are a main-stay for Byron. Whether it is the Orange Chicken, the Dragon & Phoenix special, or fried dumplings, their food is great for a hungry family! It’s definitely a “to go” shop, as the seating is really limited, but we love to order ahead and bring it home. They work hard, and the orders come up in a timely manner.
