We drove down from home in Russell Ontario looking for a nice restaurant.
We found it here. Staff was gracious and attentive. Kenzie was our waitress, and she was excellent.
We were lucky to get to sit by the fire. This is worth the drive alone. The food was perfect, we had maple grilled chicken.

Their homemade fries taste good. They don’t respect how you request the doneness of the meat. The presentation of the salad wasn’t the best. Dessert wasn’t offered to us. Despite these, the food was good. One of the best places in the Canton area, definitely. It was a different experience compared to other restaurants in the area.

Everything is usually always low to Mid-range quality here. I had 1 meal out of maybe 5 that stuck out as being actually good (the other times have been between mediocre, tolerable, and nearly unacceptable) which was a Pasta dish and it could have used more Shrimp. The prices are too high for what you’re getting. I won’t go back again.
You would think that with the restaurant being right next to St. Lawrence University it would be great but it’s not at all. Honestly restaurant-wise for the most part Canton sucks.
There are a few exceptions, Sergi’s is decent and so is Miranda’s Cafe: A Taste of Vermont. I heard the Thai restaurant in Canton is also good. I had a better experience at 11 West that’s just up the road than I did at County Seat so that could be a better option.
P.S. it’s a little drive but

To start, the food was amazing. The portions were slightly smaller than anticipated for the price. The problem was the time it took from start to finish. We called to make a reservation, and was told we didnt need one because it was slow. We got there and were questioned if we had a reservation and then had to wait several minutes for them to confirm we indeed didnt need one. The waiter was ok. Nice but not attentive thru out the night. It took over an hour to get our food. It did not look short staffed, as we saw several employees. There were about 4 other tables, who already had there food. Thankfully the food was amazing because the experience was not.

Service was slow. There was no one in the place. The fries were cold. The chicken sandwich did not have breast of chicken on it, it had a chicken finger. I had 2 glasses of wine The 1st one was about an ounce The second was a nice pour at $14 per glass.

Have eaten here a few times recently. The servers were very friendly, courteous, professional during both visits.
They have an All You Can Eat soup and salad bar this isn’t large but I had a nice tossed salad with fresh veggies, real shaved parm. cheese, tuna salad, Mac salad, cottage cheese, soup, a nice bun. The amazing part is that the environment is pleasant, service is great, food was good, and is the same price as a Whopper Meal at BK!
Nicely done during these times of the inflated cost of eating!

My friend and I happen to stumble upon this place, and we could not have been more pleased. We went back the following day for breakfast. Service was great food could not have been any better and such a nice atmosphere.

Katherine waited on myself and my friend today for lunch. What a beautiful person she is. She has a beautiful personality, she listened to us, and checked on us frequently. She made us feel relaxed and very comfortable. The food was amazing. Katherine would do really well in anything she does. I can see her going far in hospitality.
