Aloha is now my new Hawaiian bbq go-to in the LA area. This new Buena Park location is located in a strip mall with ample parking. Service is prompt and friendly. Incredibly generous portions for the price – what a great value meal.

For just around $50, this was enough food for both dinner AND lunch the next day for two of us (the portions are so generous that $50 essentially bought us four meals between two hungry adults!). What we ordered:
1. The $10 spam musubi and chicken skewer plate (both delicious). By the way, the chicken skewers à la carte are amazingly priced, at only less than $2 a skewer.
2. Chicken katsu – perfectly breaded, flavorful, and love that Aloha seems to only use dark meat/thigh (no breast, and therefore far juicier).
3. Bbq meat plate – the beef, shortrib, and chicken were all perfectly grilled. And of course, we loved the classic sides consisting of Mac salad and rice.
4. Crispy shrimp – loved how crispy they were.

I noticed that they cater as well – making a mental note to call them for my next event, as the value for quality and portion is beyond outstanding.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Aloha Hawaiian BBQ! I dropped by the new location of this business at Northgate Market Plaza and had a delicious lunch.

The menu offers classic Hawaiian meals from mini to large plates, as well as side dishes. Generous portions from the mini to full plates.

From the $10 Meal menu, I ordered the Chicken Katsu, which came with macaroni salad and rice. The meal was freshly made, hot, and crispy. The portions of the katsu were generous for the price.

I also ordered Spam Musubi for five bucks for two pieces. The Spam to rice ratio was a little off, with more rice than needed, yet it was a tasty and filling musubi. The chicken skewer was juicy and tender, but could have used a little more char on the outside.

Fountain drinks are available and currently free with an order during the grand opening.

The service was friendly and the dining area was clean and tidy. There are about five tables inside, but no patio seating. I’m looking forward to coming back!

(I wouldn’t recommend the musubis though…)

My favorite local Hawaiian spot comes to Buena Park. Same great food but local.
Local tip, they offer a cash discount and has a $2 deal on chicken skewers.

Been to this place a couple of times and it seems like the workers just keep getting worse. I patiently waited for my food for almost 45min. After people that ordered after me started getting their food I went up to ask about my order only to find out that my food wasn’t even being made and they didn’t have my ticket anywhere. If I continued to wait patiently for my food I would have been waiting for hours. If you come to this place I would recommend checking on the status of your order every five minutes just to make sure they are actually making it.

I ordered the BBQ Mix from the newly opened Aloha Hawaiian BBQ. I was surprised by the large portion and the taste. One order was enough for two people, so the price wasn’t a burden.

Saw that this place was close by and wanted to give it a try. Pricing is odd based on looking at the menu, came out to $19 per main menu plate. Maybe I caught them during an off day, took about 45 minutes to get my food. The chicken katsu was just a thick piece of chicken, with the breading falling off, and was cut into 3 giant slices.

Crazy Find!

Found a Hawaiian spot in Buena Park, CA that got me in the door with $2 Grilled Chicken Skewers but the menu was exactly like Ono Hawaiian which I was totally curious about. I love Ono because of their teriyaki sauce and it’s soooo good. But wait a minute, I ordered my usual at Ono but at Aloha Hawaiian BBQ. The pricing was very similar but Aloha got Ono BEAT!!! Portions alone, I felt it was double/triple meat compared to my usual order at Ono. I was speechless and the taste and flavor, was exactly the same. The teriyaki sauce from the pumps were the same!!! I will be here on repeat! I am crazy thrilled that @aloha.hawaiian.bbq is now located in Buena Park, in the same parking lot as Northgate Market. Recommend 10/10.
