We stopped by Caramelo Cafe at 1447 Valinda Ave and from the second we walked in, it felt welcoming. The staff greeted us with real smiles, not forced, and stayed attentive the whole time. They checked in just enough to make sure we were good without interrupting our meal. That kind of service goes a long way. The decor is clean and nicely done, modern but still warm and comfortable. It feels put together without trying too hard. The dining area was tidy, tables spaced well, and the overall vibe was relaxed. We ordered cafe de olla and it came out hot and fresh with that rich cinnamon aroma that hits you right away. Smooth, flavorful, and the perfect way to start the meal. Each of us ordered the Huevos Rancheros with chipotle sauce, and that sauce took it over the top. Smoky, bold, and just the right amount of heat without overpowering the eggs. The tostadas were perfectly crunchy and held everything together without getting soggy. Every bite had great balance. What I also liked is this location isn’t as crowded as the other nearby one. We were seated right away, which honestly surprised me in a good way. No long wait, no chaos, just steady service and good food. Overall, solid spot with friendly people and flavors that deliver. Definitely worth coming back to.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOOD AND GREAT IS ATTENTION TO DETAIL. The downside was the presentation and lack of garnish on meals and drink. The pictures on social media should be consistent and present at time of serving. Sauce for chips would be nice to be served on an actual ramekin. A saucer at LEAST for the coffee if mugs weren’t available as shown in pics. Coffee wasn’t served a full cup. Refills on coffee are extra which is understandable but a complimentary second serving would be nice not being topped completely. The french toast, chips, red chilaquiles and cafe de olla are good choices.

I came here alone to try there well known chilaquiles.
There was a line out the door but the wait wasn’t long. Great service, the ambience was laid back and melo.
Server was excellent with recommendations and knows the menu well. He even mentioned “adding steak could be a little pricey but would be well worth it”
Don’t skip “cafe de olla” it really makes a difference.
I got the chipotle chilaquiles with arachera and it was everything I craved and some.
Do not always go by reviews TRY IT GOR YOURSELF!

Food was excellent! I got the “El Tri”. The meat was perfectly cooked super savory and juicy. The chilaques does have a small kick to them which I enjoyed. Best part of the meal are the potatoes. They are AMAZING! My husband loved his skillet too.

My only complaint was the “Cafe de Olla” we had alot of coffee ground in our cup which caused it to taste very better. Other than that everything was magnificent. Loved the service. Plus, they had a car seat carrier so moms they got us covered 😉

We enjoyed our first visit to Caramelo Cafe. My wife enjoyed the fruit compote French toast. Myself, I had the House Burrito. I had the fried egg scrambled and set the sauces to the side. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bathroom cleaner inside was overpowering which made us decide to eat outside. The outside patio was comfortable and nice. The noise from the nearby recycling center was a bit distracting. Great food, coffee and staff make us want to return.

Lovely cafe with a quaint atmosphere. The food is a 3/5 star for me, because the taste and presentation wasn’t outstanding. The waffles by far are the best menu item, highly recommend. The cafe de olla is incredibly sweet and tastes only like piloncillo, not a trace of coffee. The server says the cafe de olla is made with chocolate as well. Their fried potatoes are thinly sliced and mixed with peppers. Service was attentive and kind. Overall, 4/5 rating for the cafe, nothing outstanding or unique to the experience.

Great place to eat. Will definitely come back. Should put the prices on the menu though so people aren’t so shocked they get the bill. Would highly recommend. Everything was delicious
