This restaurant has been open since November of 2025. However they are an offspring of a Marion restaurant that has proven success. Today, Sadie was an exceptional server that was very informative and welcoming.
I chose Meat Candy with a side of sweet BBQ Sauce, Baked Beans and Coleslaw for my meal with Lemonade and Water to drink.
The “Meat Candy” was a unique name for smoked pork belly cubes. They were very tender with a good mixture of fat and meat in every bite.
The amazingly fast food order to table service was literally about five minutes.
Overall, this was a 5-star experience and I will be returning to try other menu options.

An offshoot of Obi’s in Marion. The food tastes the same great way. If you don’t want to make the drive to the original site this place does the same thing for you. Our waitress Jocelyn was the best. She was attentive and helpful and entertaining. As BBQ Indiana style goes Obi’s is rock solid, worth the time to get to. I never thought I’d see a place like this in Blackford county but they are definitely better off for having it.

I have traveled the whole country for years eating bbq all over. Once you get north of Tennessee it gets slim. Obi’s in Hartford City IN was extremely good! Probably the best brisket I have ever had! This is a must visit for sure. We will be back. Ill rate this the best BBQ in Indiana!

This is an awesome addition to Hartford City! I have been to the Marion location and really enjoyed it and now it is closer to me in Hartford City! The Obichoes and Stuffed potatoe are some of my favorites so far. The sause options have a great variety to choose from. The atmosphere is awesome with Darth Vader, Chewy, and some storm troopers. Service was excellent and I will definitely be back. My the BBQ be with You!

Very nice, friendly staff, food was delicious, service was very good and considering how busy they were. The line to get in was long but, moved quickly. Some signage above the door would be awesome, I wasn’t sure what door to go in but, my guide was local and knew the right one!

The beer was ice cold. Smoke turkey was still moist. Brisket fell apart on the fork. The fingerling potatoes are one of if not the best potatoes I’ve had. And the Mac and cheese was great. I tried three of the sauce. (I brought them home)so if that’s any indication. The wife and I split a two meat tray and still bought some home. Please support this place. Blackford needs a decent place to eat. I have no idea who owns or operates this place but great job.

However, I want to encourage everyone who sees this to get ready for some amazing food. I’ve had the pleasure to try a meal from Obi’s food truck, and this is gonna be dynamite. I was born and raised in Hartford City, and never to my recollection has there ever been a BBQ restaurant. I seriously think this will be a major hit in the community and will thrive for a good long time and beyond. I look forward to this location opening soon and being able to further review their food and restaurant. If you ever see their food truck…don’t hesitate…just go for it! You won’t regret it!!
