Saw Chef James on a local Greenville morning show and had to check out this new mom and pop. Lived up to the hype. The meat for the Philly is flavorful and tender. The fries are delicious. The cheese sauce is wonderful. No greasy food here. All fresh, cooked in restaurant with care. Chef James is a delight. Worth the 3 hour drive for me.

My husband took me here to get the water ice and a philly cheese steak… so delicious, great portion size, doesn’t skimp on meat or cheese at all! Husband ordered an italian hoagie and a rueben, rueben was so good. Very nice owner, friendly and easy to talk to! Lemon ice water best flavor!! Support your local business ❤️ (got extra tomatoes btw)

Lovely little hole-in-the-wall cheesesteak and sub place. The size and amount of filling is well worth the price (roughly $16 per sub), they have specials, and what looks like a Matilda style chocolate cake. I got the Jalapeño Cheddar Philly, my only regret was not adding lettuce or something else, as it was just meat and cheese. Cashier and cook both interacted with us, and were friendly as anything. Its a small dining area, so not many seats, but we were given perfect sized to go boxes. Thanks!

Everything about this place was perfect . The owner is awesome and clearly he takes cleanness and quality very serious. And he does it in a healthy way . I don’t believe anything is fried here . Right off the top when I came in a sample of the meat was given to me and I fell in love immediately with the food . Extremely clean and I didn’t even make it home with the seasoned fries before they got ate . That’s why there’s no picture being posted of it . It is very hard to find a decent restaurant in jacksonville.Despite all the so called advertisements of authentic and so on . You go try to get a stromboli somewhere and you end up getting a oversized pizza pocket . This guy knows his stuff and it is very very good . This is only half of a sandwich , couldn’t get to the other half.I was full

Absolutely great experience! We are from Pennsylvania and when we went in to get a hoagie, the first thing we noticed were all the EAGLES decorations, perfect! The Cheesesteaks were packed full of meat and so good! I appreciated the rolls and made me feel like I was back in PA.
The best part was the conversation with the owners. Loved talking about football, Pennsylvania (a little Detroit, lol), and the food industry. The owner then gave my husband one of the best Pork sandwich’s he has ever ate.
If you haven’t been, I highly suggest you go!!

Amazing!!! My eldest son (Tarik Verlando Frazier) and I decided to visit this establishment this afternoon (12/13/25), after reviewing the plethora of positive comments from their website. No regrets! So happy we did! We purchased, and later ate two Philly Cheese steaks, a Red Velvet cake, and a Turkey & Cheese Hoagie. Each was absolutely remarkably tasteful, freshly made, and coupled with the ample portion sizes, left us with favorable impressions. At the entrance we were greeted by the Owner/Chef James. The high level of QSC (Quality, Service, and Cleanliness), and customer-service is obviously indicative of management’s standards. This restaurant is highly recommended!! Verlando Lee Frazier (Msgt. USMC, Ret.), and Philly native.

Had my first Philly cheesesteak here and certainly not my last! The kitchen is immaculate, and the owners are incredibly professional. I genuinely felt like I stepped right back into Philly the food was authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Everything, from the meal itself to the restaurant atmosphere, was handled with pride. I’m so glad I decided to stop in, and I cannot wait to come back and try more from the menu! Highly recommend.

I am writing this review to provide feedback to the owner and by no means of ill will.
It was my first time and I ordered the cheesesteak hoagie. I chatted with, whom I assume to be the owner, a very pleasant man wearing a chefs coat, but I didn’t catch the name. He was extremely professional and friendly, as was the woman working the register. So the service was fantastic. But my food….not so much. I believe they use beefstake tomatoes, which is great, but the thickness of each slice was extremely thick. Maybe around a half inch. The thickness of it was too much in proportion to the rest of the sandwhich contents, which resulted in me removing a good amount of them. But the major issue for me was the beef itself. I understand it’s roasted, which is all fine (albeit different), but the texture and appearance were terrible. I’ve roasted beef before, and it never once looked like what I received today. The texture was very soft, like very soft, and kind of mushy. I would compare it to cheap processed gyro meat. The flavor was mediocre at best and in no way tasted like beef – not natural unprocessed beef at least. I was only able to eat half of it before it became too much. That in itself is a shame because these sandwiches are not cheap. It’s actually a very steep price at $16.39 before tax, and it is not served with any sides or anything. The bread was tasty, though. The sandwich didn’t have many onions on it either, sadly. The only “Philly” thing about it was the amoroso rolls, and was certainly not anywhere near authentic Philly. With the name “Philly Guy Subs” and the slogan saying “experience a taste of Philly” with a picture of a city skyline, one would certainly assume the style of sandwhich they made would be aiming for authentic philly style cheesesteaks.
I provide this feedback to hopefully let the owner know how a customer(s) feels about their product, and I hope this results in an improvement. Until that happens, unfortunately I can not recommend this restaurant.
