TAVA Fine Indian Cuisine is a family-owned fine Indian dining restaurant based in New York. Originated from the Persian word tāve, in Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu, “Tava/Tawaa” means cooking pan. It is a large, convex, disc-shaped pan used primarily for cooking traditional Indian dishes such as roti, chapati, paratha, dosa, and many other types of flatbreads. Our passion for serving fresh Indian food straight from the tava inspired the concept of TAVA Fine Indian Cuisine. Our centuries-old, traditional Indian food recipes are cooked with fresh ingredients, and a unique blend of spices such as turmeric, cumin, coriander, and incorporate some modern and contemporary influences to give you the most extraordinary dining experience of your life.

I ordered Lamb Do Piaj as my entree medium heat. I’d never heard of the dish before and it sounded good based on the ingredients. It was definitely filling but I was hoping it’d be saucier and it wasn’t a great ratio to the rice. Not familiar with the dish so I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be saucier or not. The flavor was very good, but not much kick. I didn’t want to go spicy since Indian food can be very hot. I would say they have a “white people” spice scale. (My spice tolerance is to put a healthy dose of sriracha on my food).
Nan was very good and a good serving size. Mango chutney was good and also came with quite a bit.
I’d definitely recommend this place, really good, solid, flavorful meal. I’m definitely going to come back and try other items as based on other reviews there is even better options.
The menu was extensive, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The food was absolutely delicious and prepared to perfection, with a perfect balance of spices and flavors that left my taste buds tingling with delight. I particularly enjoyed the lamb chops, which was tender and full of flavor.
The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and were happy to recommend dishes based on my preferences. They were attentive and made sure that my dining experience was exceptional. The service was prompt, and the dishes were presented beautifully.
Overall, it is a fantastic restaurant that I would highly recommend. The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch. If you’re looking for delicious Indian food in a beautiful setting, then Tava Fine Indian Cuisine is the perfect choice.
I learned to try a few dipping sauces with a tasty and very light chickpea and pepper appetizer. The samosa was truly the best I have ever tasted. Fresh, and fully stuffed. My Mango chicken was scrumptious and the garlic naan bread was a simply a way to enjoy more of the dipping sauces. The owner and his wife and family created a warm, friendly hospitable environment in which we could simply make the most of this dining experience. Thanks again for making your restaurant a terrific addition to Glen Cove. I hope everyone welcomes you as you welcomed us!
