Another hole in the wall place I’m good at finding that had delicious food. It was a small place with 3 stools at the counter and maybe 3 booths and 3 small bar height tables.
Everything looked so good it was hard to choose. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is how warm it was in there even though I saw 2 mini-splits and the lack of a restroom.

We were just passing through and decided to try this place. Fantastic! Beans were very tasty and different than most bbq beans you’ll find. Brisket sandwich was so good. Great value. My wife enjoyed the taco plate very much.

From the outside we hesitated and had 2nd thoughts, but turned back and went for it and glad we did. They did have some inside seating thats what we wanted. People were great and made you feel right at home. Our meals were excellent and we also got treated to a small cup each of what I would call chilly but better than. Definitely would go back

This is the best Mexican food north of the border. Nothing in Alamogordo even comes close. The atmosphere is cool and down home and the staff are way too cool! Prices are really affordable too.

I had the Smothered Brisket Burrito, Street Tacos, and the Pork Sandwich. I only paid $26 for all 3 items (tax included). All 3 items were delicious. The meat was tender and tasty and the spices and salsa were perfect. I highly recommend La Cocinita and will definitely go back when I’m in town.

At first glance this place is questionable: tiny dining room with unpainted plywood walls and a kitchen barely big enough for two people. But once you taste the food none of that matters. I sat at the little bar and tasted numerous dishes while chatting with the Chef; every dish had such complex and full flavor, and he makes especially good green salsa! Give this place your business, they deserve it.

Great food and great service ! If you’re local or just passing through, this place cannot be recommended enough ! The tacos and Brisket Sandwich are insane !
Edit: we came back the following morning for breakfast – the owners were so welcoming ! Go for their brisket and egg burrito if you want to start your day on a great note.

What a cool little hidden place for great food! Service was fast and friendly. The food was to die for. I had the smothered brisket burrito with red and green sauce. Both were among the best sauces I’ve had. Nice and spicy too. My wife had the brisket street tacos(4)and loved them. Both of them including two sodas for $20. Wow.
