I used the website to place my order, and the process was easy and secure. My order was ready on time, and the food was delicious! Unfortunately, the cashier did not have a name tag on, so I cannot give her a shout-out, but I would definitely recommend the Washtenaw Ave location.

The fried shrimp and chicken tenders are absolutely delicious. NuWave’s philanthropic efforts, giving away free meals during the holidays, make this a business incredibly easy to support. Great food

I was anticipating a meal at Nu Wave as it sounded so good! OMG overrated!! I ordered the VIP special and checked on it after 10 minutes. Is mine ready? “NO” lol Finally, I was handed what was on the counter 5 minutes later. Soggy fries, cold. 2 pieces of perch ok. 2 wings? And missing the coleslaw. For $12.71! I went out of my way to experience the magic of Southern cooking. Its at the Shell station. Spare yourself the trip. Note:
In the photo it only shows one piece of fish and I ate some of the soggy fries. The fish was ok.

It’s been a minute since I came here. 3 piece lemon pepper leg and thigh with fries, coleslaw, 2 piece bread and drink. Shiiiiiit, the food was good! Chicken was hot in juicy even like the coleslaw.

I love Nu Wave. Everytime I order the food is perfectly cooked. Not to mention their prices are extremely affordable. Even their catering (big) menu is cheap and is great for parties or gatherings. They also have dine-in tables inside. I recommend!

Normally, I do Captain Jay’s but I’m in Ann Arbor and this location was the closest right at Ypsilanti. They were awesome.

The air hung heavy with the scent of frying oil and seasoned flour, a siren song luring me into Nu Wave Chicken and Fish. This wasn’t some fancy bistro with pretentious plates and overpriced wine. This was the real deal, a no-frills joint where the fryer was king and the chicken reigned supreme.
I ordered the two-piece with fries, a classic for a reason. The chicken arrived, golden brown and glistening, a testament to the cook’s mastery of the deep fryer. The skin crackled with a satisfying crunch, giving way to juicy, well-seasoned meat. It wasn’t fancy, but damn, it was good.
The fries, piled high on the side, were the perfect accompaniment – crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and generously salted. I squeezed a lemon wedge over the chicken, the tartness cutting through the richness of the fried batter.
This wasn’t the kind of place you’d find in a guidebook. No, this was a local haunt, a place where the regulars knew to ask for extra crispy wings and the sweet tea flowed like wine. It was honest food, made with care and served without pretense.
Nu Wave Chicken and Fish might not be a culinary destination, but it was a damn good place to get a plate of fried chicken. And sometimes, that’s all you really need.
