UPDATE 03DEC – Stopped back again before heading to the Token. Staff was awesome and the food again was very good. Simple menu but each is prepared fresh and with pride. They had trivia night but unfortunately had to miss. Next time!
After walking on the many trails in the area, I go to this place for the refreshing drinks and delicious weekly special. Every Tuesday, there is some type of Mexican dish at a great price. My favorite so far were the mouthwatering brisket tacos which you can order individually and include a hearty amount of brisket.
The bar tenders are friendly, attentive, and fast and are very good at answering questions about the food/drinks. Additionally, the chef clearly takes a keen interest in keeping the menu fresh with yummy foods.
I can’t wait to see what other creations the chef puts together! I’ll definitely be back soon.
The food was pretty decent, a little too salty for me and I love salt/vinegar but that could have just been me and my taste buds for the night, would totally try again.
The was only one barthender/server for the whole bar and all though she did a decent job and kept up with the serving of the entire bar, the HUGE issue came at the end of the night.
After receiving our tab, we were BLOWN away at the itemized receipt. We ordered 3 different types of drinks throughout the night (Minus the beer) and charged 6 different prices a random amount of times. Tequila and lemonade, Johnny Vegas, and Green Teas… I’m not going to say she was other drinks on our tab but when she attempting to explain how the liquor control system charges for each individual liquor, she got EXTREMELY rude because I was attempting to figure out why one time the cost was $X.xx and the next time it was more. She gave excuse after excuse that absolutely didn’t explain a price jump, even going to the extent of telling me the drink is cheaper if you buy more than one at a time all while continuing to be rude saying “she just works there”
It really is a shame because the whole time we were there, we were talking about how we were going to become locals and make that out spot and now we’ve had a poor experience due to a poor liquor management system and an overworked short tempered bartender that isn’t properly trained on the system and doesn’t how to consistently count her .pours to ensure each drink is the same cost
