Hadn’t been here in a while. Had an amazing dinner with friends. We ordered a soup, pad se yw, rice panang curry with pork and some noodles that were yellowish and kind of soupy that were the highlight! Only I can’t remember the name but it will be in my pictures. I believe it had shrimp .
Everything tasted so good .
The service is always great here and the owner is very attentive and friendly.

Friday night dinner with friends. The place was busy but we only waited about 15 minutes for a table for 5. Service was fast and food came out right away. The papaya salad was fresh and just the right spice level. We also had basil fried rice and a curry dish. Good food, good ambiance, just the right noise level on a Friday night…Will definitely come back.

Great atmosphere and lots of food choices. They use fresh ingredients, and the dishes have rich, aromatic flavors. Their spice level is no joke! (Coming from a rural area with limited Asian cuisine options, we’re used to “medium spicy” meaning barely spicy and “level 1” meaning no spice at all – so pardon me lol.)

I wish I could give this place zero stars. THINK TWICE ABOUT DINING. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. SAVE YOUR MONEY

We usually go to Janejira Thai Bistro in Pasadena for Thai food, but we decided to give Thai Thyme a try as a party of four. It was a huge mistake that we genuinely regret. We were extremely disappointed by the lack of customer service, the slow pace, and the terrible food quality.

Here is a breakdown of our horrible experience:

Accessibility Issues: We arrived with my elderly grandfather who is in a wheelchair. The restaurant does not seem to accommodate people with disabilities at all. The host/server didn’t even greet us when we walked in, nor did they offer any assistance to help us get seated comfortably.

Poor Management: There was an older gentleman with glasses who appeared to be the owner pacing the floor. He went up and down the aisle greeting other tables but intentionally skipped our table multiple times. It felt very unwelcoming.

Terrible Service: We waited over 30 minutes for our food. When it finally arrived, the timing was a mess. The entrees served were separate from the rice, so we had to wait even longer just to eat our meal together.

Ignored Requests: Basic service was non-existent. I asked for water with ice—it never came. I asked for additional hot plates and spoons—they were never delivered.

Food Quality: I ordered the seafood soup, but they might as well call it “Mushroom Soup.” There was absolutely no fish in it, and I found exactly *one* shrimp. The soup was $23 for just mushrooms and one shrimp, calling it “Seafood Tum Yum”.

When I brought these issues to the server’s attention, there was no apology and no effort made to resolve the situation.

If you are thinking about coming here, think twice and save your money. I will never recommend this place to anyone. We will definitely be sticking to Janejira in Pasadena from now on.

Was served a dish with spoiled meat during our last visit to Thai Thyme restaurant in or wonderful Old-Town Monrovia, CA. Our family used to love this restaurant. For my son’s birthday dinner we decided to visit Thai Thyme again. When our food arrived to our table we informed our waitress about the bad and apparently spoiled meat used in one of our dishes (it was 6 of us at the table). When we requested to speak to a supervisor our waitress indicated that they did not have one and stated that he is just a waitress and just works there. Requested to speak to the owner and was told hat he was not present at the time. Needless to state, because of the spoiled/bad meat used in one of our dishes some family members got ill because of it.

This is our new favorite Thai restaurant, and among our favorite restaurants in general.

The food is excellent, very fresh and tasty, not oily. They do what they call “water sauteing”, with no oil or very little oil.

The pineapple curry was especially amazing.

The food was very tasty, and still not too spicy, and the desserts were all amazing. It’s easy to taste the fresh and tasty mangos used in the mango desserts

Mainly we loved the time that the owner took to talk with guests, and the rest of the staff was also great.

The tastiest Thai food in LA! We know because we have tried soooo many Thai cuisines! This one gets their ingredients hand picked weekly from the owner himself. A very exquisite and delightful man. He makes us feel like friends whenever we walk in for a bite to eat. My favorite dish is the Massaman curry and my favorite desert is the mango pudding. Their eggplant is cooked to perfection in their traditional eggplant dish and I love that they let you choose the level of heat in all their dishes. I usually choose zero and request the tray of spices to add in as I eat. My husband on the other hand lives choosing level 2 or sometimes 3 ️!! Talk about spicy Thai! Its all here. Please come in for a sophisticated and comfortable dining experience with the best service in all of Downtown Monrovia .

I sat on the patio and jazz was playing.
Very serene atmosphere & excellent customer service. I was the only customer in the patio and they never forget about me. They were friendly. My intention was to try their mango sticky rice but they were done for the season, however I was offered the mango pudding as well as the coconut pudding to sample. They were amazing!! Definitely going back for more.

****Beware with Delivery
Being local, I always dine in and tge experience is always wonderful. Tonight though, since im sick and wanted some comfort food, I ordered delivery. And while the food was delicious as always, ve aware, they will short you on portions. The Thai Jerky is not an inexpensive appetizer, and tonight I opened my meal (untampered by the delivery guy) and it was literally 7 small pieces of Jerry. Not even a quarter of the portion I would get in person at the restaurant. Still delicious, but I wont ve ordering delivery again from this place.

Really liked the back patio on a lovely Sunday afternoon, just perfect for a leisurely lunch! Food was quite good, my Pad Thai was one of the better ones I’ve had in awhile and the papaya salad was solid if not spectacular but our waiter treated us with some coconut pudding at the end and it was really refreshing and just a perfect ending for a great meal.
