Min’s Dumpling in Mission Viejo is serving up super comforting Chinese classics. Our server recommended a bunch of things which were all certified hits like honey walnut shrimp, Mongolian beef, and sweet piggy buns.
But their carby items like soup dumplings and spicy pork wontons were hands down my favorites. I think there was a little bit of sesame sauce in the wonton sauce which gave it an INSANE layer of flavor, like you NEED to try this.
And I also loved their cong you bing or scallion pancakes that were perfectly thin and crispy. If you love Chinese food, I think they’re worth a try!
Thanks for reading! ^-^
The cat robot is also a nice touch
The Min’s Dumpling menu offers a sizable selection of Chinese dishes, but we decided on ordering our perennial favorites like Scallion Pancakes, Classic Pork Soup Dumplings, Pork Wonton with Chili Sauce and Pork Pot Stickers. We were all hungry, so these dishes really hit the spot. My only negative feedback was that the Classic Pork Soup Dumplings were nothing to write home about, so I probably wouldn’t order them again. For dessert, we enjoyed the yellow egg custard filling of their Sweet Piggy Buns…they were not only delicious but made for such a cute photo opp! Min’s also has locations in Yorba Linda and San Clemente, so check out one of their locations the next time you’re craving Chinese cuisine.
Ordered a lot as we wanted to try a variety of things. Total bill for 2 was $53.61… but would likely be $15+ less had we ordered a more normal amount.
—Pork Soup Dumplings (better than most in the general area),
—Shrimp and Pork Shu Mai (delicious),
—Wonton with Chili Sauce (best thing we had; was served with a creamy, possibly peanut sauce (?) as well),
—Scallion Pancake (crispy and not overly stuffed with scallions as these sometimes can be),
—Sesame Ball (crunchy and sweet).
Counter service style place where you get a number to bring to the table—and they have a little robot that brings food to you (the super hot bamboo steamers were carried over by staff). A few takeout orders while we were there too.
Prices are reasonable. It’s 2025… nowhere has the prices many remember from 2019 and earlier. And no, this is not the cheaper prices of those places that load a styrofoam container with a pick 3 combo. For the quality and quantity you get prices are definitely reasonable and worth it.
Did not take any photos of the food… eagerly dug in once it arrived, and only as we were finishing and saying how good it all was did we think oh we forgot to take photos of the food.
