I had a wonderful time dining at BORI in Montrose. The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff is incredibly energetic and attentive, making the experience special. The meat quality is undeniably good with beautiful marbling. While the cuts are delicious, they are almost as good as what you would find in Korea. The price point is quite high, but having a free parking lot is a huge plus! It remains a fantastic, premium choice for an upscale Korean BBQ night out in Houston.

Honestly, everything was incredible. We followed all of Caitlyn’s recommendations; she took care of us all night. Her recommendations were perfect, and the food was exactly the perfect quality. She was very kind and attentive at all times, as was her assistant I don’t remember her name but they both provided amazing service. I will definitely be back soon. If you go to this place and are lucky enough to have Caitlyn serve you, follow her recommendations; she will make sure you have an amazing dinner.

The food and service were superb! Top-level meats for reasonable prices. You cannot go wrong visiting here. Taking my beautiful wife here was the best plan ever for a baby free date night.

I was here for 들기름메밀면 but sadly the menu was discontinued. I instead got some kimchi fried rice and it was good! The 반찬s and the soup were so good I felt already full when I got the rice. They do have lunch specials and it wasn’t that awkward to eat alone on Sunday afternoon.

Stumbled upon this spot while walking through Montrose, and what a great find! We definitely weren’t dressed for the occasion, but the staff welcomed us without hesitation. It’s a full Korean BBQ experience, with the team cooking right at your table, which made it even more enjoyable. Truly a hidden gem—fantastic Korean BBQ right in the Montrose.

Our second time here because of the delicious flavors. The appetizers and entrees are great. I don’t remember what we had the first time but the second time around we ordered the seafood pancake and the cheese bulgogi fried rice. We ordered the premium beef cuts to be cooked at the table: the marinated filet minon and short-rib, and the ribeye cuts. The service is good, but I do think having the waiters cook the meat for us is a little awkward since it keeps them at the table for so long, so they either interrupt our conversation, or are awkwardly standing by while we talk. The waiter did offer for me to cook myself, but that was only after asking why he was doing it and if I could cook on my own. I think part of the novelty of Korean bbq is cooking the food on your own.

This place seems like more of a special occasion restaurant to me given that both times we dined here, just me and my husband, our bill has been close to the 300 dollar mark (290 including tip). You definitely do get a lot of food though. Recommended.

By far one of our favourite restaurants in this food filled city. Also our favourite Korean bbq restaurant in the world, for reference we’ve been to ones in LA, Seoul, Toronto, Dallas, and of course Houston.

Parks in LA used to be our favourite but BORI is actually so much better, so we’re happy we can get our fix in the city. We’ve been here 4 times in the past year or so and the food quality and customer service has always been top notch. The price is reasonable too consider the high quality of meats.

I love that they have the spicy raw marinated crab dish (yangnyeom gejang), it’s so hard to find at Korean restaurants in Houston and I’d rather not attempt to make it myself. Our go to meats have been beef tongue, marinated short rib, and pork jowl. It comes with a soup , cheesy corn, steamed egg and a ton of sides and sauces. I’m drooling just from thinking about our last meal.

They also have a pretty big dessert menu, I got the hotteok this time and it was definitely enough for several to share!

First time at BORI and I think it’s now in my top 4 Korean barbecue places I’ve ever been to. The service was amazing, the atmosphere was great, the menu was very easy to read and had lots of options. My only complaint was that I didn’t know that the set meals came with a salad because it didn’t say on the menu as it only said it came with steamed egg, soup, corn cheese, so that is the only reason why we ordered an additional salad. I’ll be lenient on my review and not mark points off for that reason. All the side dishes were amazing quality. With the meat being the main show; the ribeye melted in the mouth, the short rib had good flavor, and the pork belly was great. I highly recommend this place and I would come back.

Finally got to try the new Montrose location. Super convenient since I work Downtown, so making trek here was easier than the Memorial location. They’re still sort of in soft opening mode, but the menu was familiar, and the food and service was just as good.
Food: Seafood pancake and small BORI beef cuts (beef belly, short rib, and marinated NY strip). Delicious and cooked properly. I like beef belly on the crispy side, and my request was accommodated.
Service: Our main server Tim did an excellent job. Very attentive and timed his visits very well in between cooking courses.
Location: awesome looking house (I forget what it was previously, but it looks really cool). This location has two stories, so that’s a little unique.
Self parking was available when we went (515pm Wednesday), but it looks like there’s valet when it’s busy, similar to Memorial.
Overall: Great experience as always. Looking forward to them being open for lunch once everything is 100% up and running.

I’ve been to a lot of kbbq places and this one was a disappointment for one exclusive reason: the meat. The service and atmosphere were great. The staff was attentive and kind. We ordered the large finger portion and it was incredibly tough and chewy. My jaw felt sore. I can’t recommend the meat here. Maybe something else would have been better but no cut of meat should be that tough. It was borderline inedible.
