I invited a friend for beers and a burger. Believed the Burger Special cost to be $10. Boy did they take us for a ride. I had bought the bucket of beer and used chips for my drinks. She had a few Rum and Cokes. The checks came and we were both shocked. The menu posted on line shows burgers start at $5.95 and up depending on what is added. The special comes with chips fries or onion rings can be added for an additional charge. Basically the bartender said the burger special was $12.00 and oops! I charged you for a large onion ring and accidentally added a beer to your ticket. I paid for my friends meal since I had been confused about the price of the special. I got home and looked at the website seeing the correct or at least the posted 2025 price online.I wish I could remember the name of the barkeep that ripped us off. I would definitely have posted her name. Just know someone there has no qualms making prices up as she sees fit. NOT COOL!!

Thank you to Bernie’s Place for firing up the grill after 9pm! We prefer local, non-chain food. The burgers and fries were amazing and the bartender was so incredibly courteous, accommodating, and cooked a GREAT burger! We’d been traveling all day and after 2 places in town didn’t have their grill still fired up, Bernie’s Place gave us great carryout and a quiet spot to take a break.

I’m a fan of dive bars and good service, and I got both here. My burger was massive with two fresh patties, more food than I could eat at a low price.
It’s a tiny spot, without a lot of seating, but I was there late and had no troubles. There was a pool table and an AMI jukebox.
