Visited this restaurant on 01-17-25. I drove an 1.5hr from PG county because I wanted some good Ghanaian food.
I was happy with the customer service and the food.
Food took less than 10mins after I placed my order. Food portion was huge and couldn’t even finish it.
Menu wasn’t over priced.
Loved their playlist also, will definitely be going back there again.

Let me add my voice to the many positive reviews already shared. Asanka Delight is truly one of the best Ghanaian restaurants I’ve visited outside of Ghana. The menu features a wide variety of popular Ghanaian dishes, paired with authentic homemade Ghanaian drinks.
I ordered yam with egusi stew and enjoyed every single bite. While my personal favorite is yam with kontomire stew, the egusi was a delicious alternative that did not disappoint.
The pricing is reasonable and suits all budgets, making it accessible for everyone. I highly recommend Asanka Delight for anyone looking to experience the true taste of Ghana. Pay them a visit – you’ll be glad you did!

I stopped through this restaurant after grocery shopping. What a delightful surprise! I ordered the Volta Special (gumbo) with white rice. It took awhile but it was worth the wait. The perfect amount of heat and spices. If you don’t like the slime of okra, this dish is not for you. I will return because it was delicious!!! Huge portion, expect to take some home … or bring a friend!
Service was pleasant. Great vibes and nice atmosphere as well. Plenty of parking.

I had been wanting egusi soup for a long time and lots of people recommended Asanka Delight ! We went and they did NOT disappoint! When we first walked in the lady we first saw turned out to be the owner’s mom , she was so sweet ! And then Henry the owner took our order and was so polite and welcoming !! We got Egusi Stew with chicken and fufu , and babe got the spicy turkey too ! Food was 10/10 and the service was impeccable !! They made it feel like you’re home not in a restaurant, feels like the food was made out of love !! It was SO SO good and will definitely be going back for more !! Thank youuuu so much Asanka Delight and everyone

It was really good. My partner and i got jollof rice with tilapia and peanut butter soup. The soup was thinner than ive had before but it was still flavorful and aromatic. Their jollof rice also settled the nigeria v ghana jollof race for me. CLEARLY Ghanaian is better. It was 43 after tax

I got the waakye and Volta special. Every thing tasted fresh and homemade. They customer service was also lovely.
Waakye – perfect if you love soft waakye. They give a large portion with angel hair spaghetti, gari, protein and plantain. I wish it included an egg as well. It was tasty and the beef was extremely tender.
Volta Special – basically okra soup with banku. It’s okra soup so it has that nice slimy draw which I love. It was a nice mix of crab, shrimp, fish and beef.

As an Egyptian, I’ve never had West African food before but I always drove past this restaurant on the way to work. Decided to pick up takeout yesterday and I was BLOWN away! I was so happy eating everything I ordered, the spices were on point! Was this food made with pure love? Because I sure fell in love ❤️
I ordered Wakkye stew, Volta special [I’m an okra lover] which came with fufu, a side order of Jolof rice, and an iced hibiscus drink. The okra and the crab were absolutely lovely, and the spices hit all the right places. The wakkye stew came with beef, fish, goat/lamb, and plantains. The rice and beans were so hearty.
I usually get Indian food when I want something spicy but now Indian food has major competition. West Africa all the way!
I’ll be back to dine in for sure!

I would have given this restaurant a 5 and maybe next time I will but all the things that I wanted they did not have. I wanted the suya but they were out and this was at 12pm during lunch, they did not have the beef or chicken Khebab’s as advertised on their menu because they do not serve it anymore. I recommend removing any items from your menu if you no longer serve them. Now for the food I did order, the Jollof rice with chicken and the meat pie( DELICIOUS)…this was my first time having Jollof and I believe this is west African food. And the flavors were a burst of yumminess in my mouth. I will go back and try the suya because I heard it was delicious as well. Also the price is very inexpensive!

I’ve always wanted to try Fufu, and I’m so glad we found this spot! The flavors were incredible, the meat was perfectly tender, the soup was rich and comforting, and the fufu was everything I hoped it would be. The service was genuinely warm and welcoming, and the cozy atmosphere made the whole experience even better. I also tried Puff Puff for the first time, which was absolutely delightful, like a cross between cornbread and mochi. I could’ve easily eaten a dozen! 10/10, I’ll definitely be back to explore more dishes.
