Bf was looking for some good fried porkchops to go and found this place online. Only Soul/Jamaican food spot near our way. The food was very good with very nice portions! The meals are made to order. I suggest you call in before pickup. They are also on Doordash for delivery. The family that runs the business were also friendly. Will try other items on the menu on the next round. We ordered the porkchops and jerk chicken meal and a side order of Mac and cheese .
Ordered again on 10/12/21…for some reason I couldn’t do another review but I will just add to this. Ordered catfish platter with cabbage and mac for bf. Once again he enjoyed his dinner. He said definitely down home flavor, fresh and totally satisfied with the Mac and cabbage. He felt that he was back at grandma’s house. It was a pleasure coming back. Met and got to talk with the owner. She was pleasant to talk to and so sweet. She and her daughter really takes pride on what they do. Even her daughter have her own little business with Italian ices and clothing line. Check them out.

Let’s start with this is my second order from this restaurant. My first order everything tasted great. I can’t say the same this time. Imma break down each dish and the problems. First Lake trout with greens and candies yams the fish were a bunch of little pieces and they were beyond dry and over cooked like so overcooked if you squeezed them it disintegrated. Second was whiting and it looked exactly the same as the trout and the Mac and cheese was dry and overwhelmed with pepper. The third was fried chicken the chicken was good but Mac and cheese not so much. Also we ordered dinner roles but instead dry cornbread. Oh yeah and we order chocolate cake and received Lil Debbie cakes. IM BEYOND IRRITATED I FEEL LIKE I JUST WASTED $80

This is my first time having her food! Me and my boyfriend were looking for something to eat and she popped up on google and is right around the corner from us! It was amazing ! It was music playing and food cooking! It makes you feel like you’re at home ! The food is delicious just like a grandma would make it ! You get what you pay for and it’s worth it! I don’t get on here too often and write reviews but my first order is something to write about. I got the fried whiting with collard greens and mac and cheese. Baby!!!! Every forkful was devine! So delicious and flavorful and cooked to perfection! Honestly I stayed away because of the reviews but I had a taste for fish and Hip Hop doesnt do it for me. So glad I ordered, I was happy with everything. Looking forward to exploring the menu

Boneless ribs were well seasoned and yams were cooked to perfection. Didnt care for the mac and cheese, which was very disappointing. I’d def go back, I would just order something else next time. Also, owner, please remember to always stock up on menus!!

Wow such amazing food. I was visiting my daughter who lives in Essex and she recommended this business. I live on the eastern shore so I couldn’t wait to get home and this food is soooooooo good. I can’t wait to come back and try the ribs.

We lived in the area when this restaurant opened several years ago. We’ve since moved, but wanted to see if an old favorite was still in business. We rode over on a Sunday afternoon and were pleased to see this business still going strong. My daughter ordered a fried chicken dinner with collard greens and yams. I got the jerk chicken dinner….oh my goodness! It was so delicious…the cabbage was on point, the yams seasoned just right..not too sweet and you can taste the spices..the greens …so good..both the fried chicken and jerk chicken was yummy. I did not realize how much I missed this food until today! We will definitely put this place back on our rotation…thank you for the great food and service.

OVERPRICE. Visited this place because I wanted a cooked meal for Easter. The customer service was really good. I paid $26 but only because I added an extra side. Do I feel like it was worth $26? No. The plate came with 4 pieces of chicken and 2 sides. I got Mac n cheese & yams. The food could’ve been seasoned a lot more, especiallyyyyyyyy the chicken. There was no cornbread nor dinner rolls so I had to get two slices of bread. For $26 sandwich bread shouldn’t have been nowhere near my plate. Happy to support black own but I would not eat here again.
