The burger? Juicier than a mermaid’s secret. Cooked hot, fresh, and delivered with the kind o’ heat that’d rival a cannon blast on a summer’s day.
Now don’t let the “farm to table” banner fool ye — sure, they say it’s farm to table, but only a couple o’ dishes actually hit that mark. It’s more like “farm to table-ish.” Still, the gimmick be forgivable, seein’ as the grub be tasty enough to make a parrot sing opera.
Service? Aye, our lad was runnin’ ‘round the deck like a powder monkey with his breeches on fire — servin’ tables from port to stern! I raised me mug to the poor soul, for he kept his cool and brought our bounty without missin’ a beat. The man deserves a promotion to First Mate, at the very least.
All in all, Whisper Creek be a worthy harbor for any hungry sailor lookin’ to feast on fowl and beef. I’ll be back again, so long as the winds be fair and the rum flows free.
We get down from the room and there is a bit of a line to get in, and we genuinely said to each other “must be a pretty good place, smells great too”. The front staff told us we would have a 40-45 minute wait, which was reasonable as it was pretty full, so we decided to sit outside on the patio a bit in front of an unlit fireplace to wait.
About an hour rolls around and we start to get a little concerned that they forgot us or dropped our reservation, however we didn’t get any sort of text. So we go up and check to see if we are still on the list, and the person couldn’t find the name or phone number, only after we said the room number did she seat us, which really just speaks to the outright forgetting about our reservation.
After we sit down, our drink order gets confused, and once we ordered (which we ordered right away, had plenty of time to look at the menu), we waited another long while to actually get our food. The appetizers were alright but small for what you order but the main that I had ordered (steak frites) came out medium, nowhere close to the medium rare I did order.
One of my party members straight up did not get part of their order, the other party members also had similar experience with tough food, and some missing items.
While we were trying to eat, there was a server very loudly talking his mouth off right next to us, which isn’t a problem inherently but he stood there for literally the duration of all of us eating our meals, around 20 or so minutes.
I would not recommend this place, I feel like I have wasted my dinner time and could have had a fat better experience with my party eating elsewhere.
Both times, we sat at the bar and received delightful service from Trenton. He was super kind and friendly, and definitely elevated our experience (plus, he made us his special espresso martinis with secret ingredients)
WCFTK provides a farm-to-table experience with local and sustainable products. The onsite Whisper Creek Farm is home to chickens and a 7,000 square foot fruit and vegetable garden.
WCFTK has a modern style with dard woods and televisions throughout. There is also ample patio seating. Customer service was solid. The food and beverage arrived within an appropriate time frame.
What I Ordered:
Peach Cobbler Moonshine
Crispy Brussel Sprouts
Lettuce Wraps
The Peach Cobbler Moonshine was one of the best moonshines I have had. It tasted like a peach dessert and the slice of peach at the bottom of the beverage was a treat.
The Brussel Sprouts were memorable. I loved the buffalo lime vinaigrette and mojo emulsion. The candied pecans added a great crunch. If I could change one thing, it would be for slightly crispier sprouts.
I really wanted to like Lettuce Wraps, especially given their presentation on a board and the playfulness of the meal. I liked the pickles, peppers, and the crispness of the cucumber. However, the pickled squash lacked acid and the coffee-rubbed short rib salt. While I appreciated the herbaceous quality of the chermoula, the turmeric overpowered the green mango.
I am hoping to return to Orlando sooner than later. The flatbreads, especially the Marg-a-roni, looked tasty.
