Stopped in for a lunch meal, got the General Tso Chicken. Super fresh, chicken was crisp and smothered in sauce. Definitely recommend eating here if you love quality Chinese food. Super quick as well.

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! $30.00 Right in the trash after trying to stomach this horrible what they call Chinese food !! I don’t know how this place is still in business. We got a sweet and sour chicken combo with “fried rice” and an egg roll and a shrimp with lobster sauce combo with fried rice and an egg roll. Let’s start with what they consider to be an egg roll it tasted like they pulled it out of a bag of pre-made economy-brand egg rolls it was nothing but flavorless mush. Let’s move on to the “fried rice” What a joke it didn’t even taste like regular rice let alone fried it was bright orange/yellow with no veggies or egg or seasoning of any kind, it actually smelled like a stink bug when I first opened it up to plate it, now onto my sweet and sour chicken the sauce had no flavor ( I was in shock at this point) how can a Chinese restaurant produce food that is so flavorless you start dumping salt and soy sauce and anything that might give it some kind of flavor!!!! The other combo was the same, the shrimp was cooked right but it was so bland and had no flavor. Anyway, we were praying that the dumplings were going to be good, but again the dough was very overcooked the texture was like a mushy piece of pasta and the filling was flavorless!!! How can you mess up a filling that is supposed to have pork and garlic and scallions with other spices, but like everything else it was FLAVORLESS !!! I plated our food we took a bite or two of the chicken and shrimp and dumplings, and then I even tried to give my dog a piece of chicken and he spat it out !!! Anyway, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HORRIBLE RESTAURANT, save your time and money ours went into the trash. We’ve never been so disappointed in a meal in our lives

The Golden Wall in Gap, PA is my favorite local Chinese restaurant. I ordered my usual favorite of Sesame Chicken and my husband gets Shrimp Lo mein. We always order our meal as a Combo. The Combo comes with fried rice, egg roll and of course a fortune cookie. We get our meals as a take-out order. We can often count on a generous handful of sweet and sour, hot mustard and a Chinese restaurant staple soy sauce tossed in the bag. The manager always has a friendly hello as she promptly takes our order. You can count on generous portions of authentic Chinese food that is priced accordingly. It never to satisfy. So stop by and give it a try.

It’s hit or miss at this place. I’ve had good food and horrible “food”. If you are ordering I’d ask questions and be very specific. Ex. does the
fried rice just have yellow coloring in it or did you put actual ingredients in it? Is the peppered chicken just chicken nuggets with pepper sprinkled on it? Or actual chicken with pepper and onions sauted like it should be? I guess the cook didn’t feel like working on a Sunday at dinner.

Full disclosure: I haven’t eaten here in maybe 20 years but this was my family’s go to spot growing up and no other General Tsos Chicken can ever compare to my memory of what this place serves.
My mom would always place a walk in take out order and we would wait 20 minutes in the few chairs by the register while she balanced her checkbook or some other 90s/y2k analog task.
The food was packaged in the tin bottomed to go containers and when we got home we would have to wait a few minutes for the chicken to cool down because somehow it was still burn your mouth hot after the 10 minute drive home.
By some miracle, the chicken would still be crispy under the sauce that had a perfect sweet and spicy balance that I cannot find anywhere else in my adulthood. (These days it’s all sweet no spice) I remember being afraid of the peppers in the sauce. The pieces were so big I would have to cut them in half.
I’m not sure if my memory is painted by my inexperience. Golden Wall was my first exposure to any Asian food whatsoever as a baby bumpkin in Lancaster Co. I’m not sure if food quality in general has gone down in these classic American Chinese strip mall joints. What I know is that the General Tsos bar was set for me at Golden Wall and for that I will be eternally grateful 🙂

Absolutely great! the place is very clean and inviting. Noticed most order take out, I did stay to dine in.
Service is quick, friendly and clear.
Very ample menu, you can order by number of item. You can order portion size of combo (which comes with rice and egg roll). BTW one of the best egg rolls I’ve had, the filling was full of veggies.
Easy parking at mall plaza. Plenty of tables and chairs. I’ll be back to continue trying other dishes.

Iam going to buck the trend and honestly say the food alone was 3 stars – but it earns a 4th on some very very nice customer service. This couple is down right sweet and the whole experience should be considered. I ate there and tried 4 dishes to write a full review. Before we talk food, the restaurant is simple but very clean. My four dishes were 27.00, which to me was cheap. I had egg drop soup, crab ragoons, chicken wings and the sesame chicken combo. EGG DROP – looked appealing, thick and hardy – but VERY bland. I needed to keep pouring and pouring soy sauce in there to finish it. I recommend buying the chips for .50 and add them…yes it is worth it – they are sealed and fresh.
CRAB RAGOONS – one of the biggest stars – crisp, filling was delicious – wonderful.
CHICKEN WINGS – these wings looked starved, bone skinny, and that gave them a dried out appearance. They were well fried and tasted okay but no meat – just a low quality chicken supplier
SEASAME CHICKEN COMBO (fried rice and eggroll) – first the bad – ditch the fried rice and the egg roll – big waste of 800 calories. The rice was dry and tasteless, the egg roll was closer to a large spring roll – it had no body – skimpy. A good egg roll needs to be thick with filling, crunchy but chewy as well – again – bad product supplier
The Sesame chicken was EXCELLENT – well fried, crispy with the seeds and perfect sauce.
THREE star food for the ups and downs – highly recommend ordering just a quart of chicken, pass on combo.

The pork fried rice that they are serving now is horrible. I could have gotten rice and cut up pork and there would have been more flavor than this trash. They use to have onions in it and flavor. Never again.

Ordered take out. They forgot to put the flavor in the food. Definitely holding out of seasoning. Ordered beef and broccoli combination, when I returned home and opened my bag I had received a shrimp and broccoli combination with 4 shrimp. Very bland. Pork fried rice is just bland yellow rice. Disappointing to say the least. Won’t be returning.
