Brussel sprouts were great. Meat on both chicken and ribs were tender. Would give five stars but the seasoning was laid on WAY to heavy and salty. Had to scrape off the seasoning on the ribs and peel it off the chicken.

Have been a regular here since they opened. Great brunch on the weekends as well. Try the fried okra appetizer, Mac and cheese and salads. Kids love the barbecue sandwiches. The meat combos are quite hearty – update their menu recently changed but still family friendly and very local…. looking forward to their new lobster Mac and cheese.

The BBQ was so good here we came back on the way out of town. Good selection on the meaning and liked the ambiance.

We really enjoy our visits to Smoke in Basalt. The ambiance is great, service is always on point, add the food is consistently delicious! The beans and the burnt end mac and cheese are our favorites, and my daughter LOVES the pulled pork sandwich. This place is always a winner for us.

Food was awesome, very flavorful and complex. The sides were delicious. I loved the different take on slaw and the pulled chicken was tender and smokey. The sausage was a disappointment, tasted like a hot dog, the fried okra had no flavor, could’ve used some kind of seasoning, and the service was really slow and we were there during a slow time.

My wife and I are locals and have been coming here for 8 years. Recently they changed the menu and moved away from BBQ to a more upscale Steakhouse type menu. They increased their prices and removed many of the traditional barbecue and other items off the menu.
They also changed the decor in the restaurant, erecting a large wall between the dining room and kitchen. While l I understand all businesses need to evolve and mature, this one seems to have moved in the wrong direction. The prices have gone up significantly, the quality of the food seems to have suffered, many of our favorite items are gone, and it feels much more stuffy and less friendly and casual than it used to.
If the prices had gone up and the food remained outstanding, I wouldn’t be as critical, but unfortunately we were not impressed with any of our meals, the only item that we really liked was the shrimp and grits which remained from the old menu. The beef brisket was bland and lacked flavor, the baked beans which used to be my favorite were undercooked and full of pieces of fat and gristle. The so-called beef stew, was more like a beef vegetable soup.
I’m not leaving this review to be fussy, quite the contrary. I want this restaurant to be successful as we frequent it on a regular basis, I just hope they take my comments to heart and try to bring back a few of the more popular items and try to be cognizant of their pricing. I’m not sure why they moved away from being BBQ centric, as an upscale BBQ restaurant faces a little competition in this area and they have had an outstanding reputation for many years. We don’t need another bar and grill, we want the old Smoke back! Thank you

This is no longer Smoke, it’s now called Union Kitchen – even though their website still lists this location as Smoke – and they no longer do BBQ. Asked the hostess and she said it’s the same owner and employees, but more focused on seafood and other stuff. Very misleading, we drove down valley just for BBQ 🙁 suggest you change your website so no one else suffers the same!

I’ve been a local who has gone here for around 10 years, ever since I was a young kid. My family held many traditions here, birthdays, holidays, etc, and loved the place. Recently, I stopped in to see the new menu change and check out the renovations. I was horrified that a place that held such a memory in my heart had been changed to what it is now. After around a minute of skimming over the menu and surroundings me and my long time party left and complained about how we would most likely never go back again. Thank you old Smoke, goodbye new Smoke.

If I was so concerned about my wallet I would have stayed home, eaten cereal and re-tooled my investment portfolio. When I go out to eat I hope for good food and good service – definitely had both here yesterday. I had the ahi tuna BLT and my friend had a cheeseburger. We both devoured our meals. Great selection of delicious sides also – seemed like a carry over from the BBQ days (which we never knew about). Will stop again.

Actually was really disappointed with brunch I had a few Saturdays ago. It was the most terrible service I’ve had in a while. I think the waiter was stoned or hungover (or something); he got all of the orders at my table wrong… And the food wasn’t great. I got the burnt end hash browns, and it was overcooked and quite literally burned, and still somehow cold… I’ve had some great dinners there and their catering services are great, but brunch was a disappointment.
