Every year we head out to the Dickens Festival in Skaneatlus NY. It was our first time dining at Elephant and the Dove and it won’t be our last in fact it will be our number one restaurant next year. The ELEPHANT and Dove was extremely busy since it was the weekend of the festival. My husband and I were impressed how quickly we were seated and no wait time! Thank you to our hostess who not onlygave us one of the last tables available but the best. We sat upstairs and could see part of the downtown area outside of the window. It was perfect.( Im sorry I didnt get the hostess name.) The restaurant couldn’t be more tastefully decorated and I enjoyed the atrium as well as the art hanging on the walls. Table and chairs were comfortable plenty of room on the table for food and spaced adequately. Thank you to the server which was fast professional friendly and fun. Also thank you for asking to take a selfie. Thank you for apologizing for wait time which actually wasn’t long considering the volume of people inside. I was grateful for the table and I wanted to spend a nice leisurely time dining to enjoy the restaurant.
The food was amazing. I highly recommend the blackened shrimp tacos. Deliciousness stuffed with all kinds of good stuff and had the right amount of spices. Thank you Elephant and the Dove for a most memorable dining experience. You have an excellent team. See you next time!

The elephant and the dove is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is absolutely amazing and there are very allergy friendly! I have a gluten and dairy allergy and they accommodate everything without a problem. They even have a dedicated gluten free fryer! Our usual server Krislyn is the best. She is a very genuine and knowledgeable person. We love having her as a server. She remembers the details of my allergies and our usual orders. She goes out of the way to make your experience even better! I highly highly suggest coming here!!

But what truly elevated our meal was Freddie, the bartender. Freddie is an absolute gem! His energy, knowledge, and genuine warmth made the whole experience unforgettable. He took the time to chat with us, and made spot-on recommendations that were phenomenal from start to finish.
I started with the Mexican Razor Blade on his suggestion, tequila, cucumber, lime, and just the right touch of sweetness, and it was out of this world. Refreshingly crisp with a perfect kick, balanced beautifully, and easily one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had anywhere. It was dangerously delicious!
Freddie’s food suggestions were equally spot-on. The combination of his expertise behind the bar and thoughtful recommendations turned a great meal into an exceptional one.
If you’re in Skaneatetles, do yourself a favor and stop by Elephant and the Dove. Ask for Freddie, you won’t regret it. This place earns every single star and more! Can’t wait to go back.

Found this little gem on our four day trip to the Finger Lakes region. Skaneateles was recommended by friends so we spent a few hours there shopping. Heading back to our car thinking we’d have dinner back in Ithaca we walked past the Elephant & The Dove and decided to pop in. From the moment we walked in the entire staff was so friendly and welcoming! Our waiter Ryan was amazing!! He did not rush us whatsoever and happily answered all our questions. He even explained how the name and decor were an “ode to Frida Kahlo”. So beautifully decorated and the food…the best!! The Mexican pizza appetizer was big and delicious, so much on it yet not too much – the flavors were excellent! My Beef Birria tacos and my husband’s Beef Rojo Enchilada were so tasty! Oh and btw on Tuesday yummy margaritas are $5!! This was the best choice to enjoy my birthday dinner and drinks! Would highly recommend to anyone heading to the Finger Lakes – make the trip to Skaneateles and The Elephant & The Dove you wont be disappointed! If I didn’t live four hours away we would definitely be regulars!!

The second time around, I couldn’t resist ordering a variety of appetizers, and each one was better than the last. Great cozy place in a little cozy town. The food tasted great. The triple dipper was good, and we liked the salsa and the guacamole dips. The California burrito was amazing and well made. Similarly, burrito bowl was also great, although slightly more quantity of fish and rice would be great over the salad. The French fries were crispy and good as well. The service and staff were great.

Want to visit an upscale, classy, Mexican restaurant well……Elephant and The Dove located in Skaneateles, New York is the place for you! The inside is such a classy clean, neutral colors that are inviting. The second floor was my favorite as it has a large amount of natural light coming in. They have a basement for large private parties. They have seating for family like intimate dining. This restaurant feels like home! From the lighting that’s unique to the wall art to the pillows on the chairs! There are two entrances one in the front that has an inviting home like cozy feel and then the back entrance that you can enter from the parking lot. The back entrance was a tad bit confusing to get to the main dining area however go through the front and exit out the back.
The service was amazing. My server was prompt. She allowed me enough time to review my menu. She offered recommendations, and when I asked, for her honest opinion, she was able to assist me, and it did not fail. The food was amazing. I got the triple dipper which was a sample of salsa, guacamole, and queso. When I tell you, the guac was amazing with the right amount of garlic, and the queso was superb. It’s making my mouth water just thinking about this appetizer and even the tortilla chips were the exact amount of salt and crisp. I got the Mexican mule to drink, which was an average drink. Nothing to talk about. My dinner was the burrito bowl and I got a side of Mexican street corn that was off the cob. The food was quick to the table. After ordering I cannot brag enough about how great the food was, and the service was great too!
I highly recommend visiting Elephant and The Dove! I will definitely be bringing my family and friends here when they come to visit! To the owners you’re doing a great job with food and service! I cannot brag enough about Elephant and The Dove!! Cheers
