New restaurant in a familiar convenient location. El Gallo still in soft opening these. No beer or margaritas. About two weeks away from a liquor license. Just my party of four and two other tables so service was very attentive. Plenty of chips and salsa to munch on. Cheese dip and fresh guacamole appetizers were superb. Salsa a little watery. The fajitas and other entrées very good.

Tired of the same ol’ Mexican restaurant in the Signal Mountain Rd area? Then please come check this new place out. We had the Fajita Quesadilla plate that also came with beans, rice and a small salad. Quite enough to feed two senior citizens. The food was very good. The seasoning was perfect for us as it was not as typically spicy as other Latin places. The pica de Gallo in the crisp lettuce along with slices of avocado surpassed my expectations. The meat and vegetables in the quesadilla were cooked to perfection and without grissle. This restaurant is very clean and colorful with authentic music in the background. Lots of tables and booth and wheel chair accessible. Lunch menu (Monday -Friday) has $7 items. Come on out and give them a try. Located next to Citgo on Commercial Lane off Mountain Creek Rd off Signal Mountain Rd/Hwy 127.

The chilis poblanos is on of the best around, go for lunch if you’re on a budget. The staff are very kind, La Altena still reigns supreme but I wish them all the best.

The salsa was watery and had no spice at all taste like a V8 drink. And then my husband found a hair in his salsa even though the jar was covered with plastic to keep stuff out of it. We got the quesadilla birria had some high hopes for it. All of it was completely bland, from the rice to the birria quesadilla self. There is no spice a lot, you can barely taste the seasoning. I hope that are able to turn things around so their company can grow.

The salsa was very watery. They did not have many items. The food is also overpriced for the quality. La altena was a much better place to eat. We also waited a very long time. I get they are very new but if you’re not ready to open then you should wait until you are fully operating.
