My husband and I wanted to try a new to us place in Morton, and we hadn’t tried Verandah. Walking in during the lunch hour, there was no one inside the restaurant but a few people on the patio. We were sat immediately. The waiter was fine. He was handling inside and outside himself. The music was a little loud but not impossible to talk. The flies though. Holy moly they were annoying. A fly light at the front would be very beneficial – main reason for 3 stars on the atmosphere. The food is okay, I got the cali-burrito and my husband got the chicken chilequiles. The chilequiles without a protein would have been a bit weak. The cali-burrito was okay, the fries inside threw me off. I really like the pico. I do wish the chorizo was better distributed within the burrito. The green sauce is tasty. For the price though, I was expecting something more. It looks pretty at least. The portion sizes are decent. I may try to come back and try something else, but I’m not sure if I would do the burrito again.

This new restaurant in our small town is a new gem. Despite our small size, this establishment offers truly remarkable flavors. The menu is filled with delectable dishes that are sure to satisfy even the most discerning palate. They even accommodate food allergies which made me so happy. From the first bite, it is evident that the chefs love what they do. This new restaurant is a testament to the fact that great taste knows no boundaries, regardless of the size of the town it is located in. Highly recommend it for a special evening out, or a bite for lunch, and the bar looks fabulous!

Was really excited to try out Verandah and was not disappointed. Highly recommend their ceviche for appetizer, although the carnitas Mac and cheese were also amazing. Their birria tacos were so good, but don’t go in expecting quesabirria tacos. These were divine in their simplicity. (EDIT: I believe they now offer a quesabirria taco plate!) For dessert, we had their bread pudding, best bread pudding I’ve had in a long time. Will definitely be back, highly recommend! It is kind of small, so consider making reservations if you’re going at peak dining hours. And don’t forget the drinks!

What a wonderful meal. Our favorite was the Chille Relleno taco, the Rib eye Taco….and the Calimari was absolutely perfect. The Ceviche was crisp and fresh…could have used some zing( jalapeños).. we also had 3 other tacos, Carnitas, Birria and pork belly. The Birria and Pork Belly were a bit overcooked….We will be back, there is more to try~ all in all a wonderful meal. Great service with a smile by Jayci~
Can’t wait to try the Shrimp Burrito~!
Thank you,

Although the food looks good, it is pricey and very greasy. It looks better than it tastes, for sure. Very meh and you have to take Omeprazole after just to settle your stomach. I can’t see this restaurant lasting long in Morton.

Great experience from start to finish! We got in quickly on a weeknight and food was served quickly too. Cocktails were delicious and fairly priced. We got the jalapeño poppers and tacos and think this contends with any “foodie” restaurant! Interior and bar was beautifully done.

OMG, OMG! I’ve waited a long time for this! Excellent Mexican food instead of bland precooked stuff. This new restaurant served the best fried pork belly I’ve ever had (Chicharones)! Also the best rice and beans vs the usual bland. I recommend a flight of margaritas, the rib eye fajitas and the pumpkin tres leches cake for dessert! Can’t wait to return for brunch!
