AMAZING veggie burger! Genuinely one of the best I’ve ever had. Only £6 too! Came super fast on a weekday lunch, less than 2 mins wait. Noted it can be made vegan without the cheese too. They use symplicity patties. Cool American diner decor. Absolutely will be coming again, excellent value.

Stopped by Doughs Hamburgers at Circle Square. Food was tasty and the service was fine, but the price point is high. £15 for a burger and fries that are just “good” feels a bit much. Worth a try, but I wouldn’t rush back at that price.

The foods actually aright and very fresh. Well seasoned but a bit pricey. I would have expected to pay about £10 for a double cheeseburger meal but it was £15. And think the burger on its own was £10. All in all, I would go back but it won’t be a regular thing

Let’s start with the positives: the guy who takes your order is exceedingly nice, although it was difficult to understand what he was saying but this could be because of the local intonation rather than anything else. All, That’s it for the positives. I went for a take out of a burger royale and fries and a coke. For dinner. I paid 15 quid. The place is quite empty ( Saturday evening) and dimly lit. And I mean even at the counter there is no light and everything is difficult to see, including the drinks machine that you are supposed to use to refill… not that the refills are advertised anywhere. Not the place I would bring a friend or a date, chairs are solid metal with wired supports and no cushions that dig into your flesh while you sit, so it is very uncomfortable. The food was ready in a couple of minutes. The food came in a generic paper bag quite tiny, chips came in a tall paper cup ( not full) and burger came in a piece of aluminium foil, badly wrapped with bits and pieces spurting out. Went back to hotel to eat, 30 metres away, after having opened the aluminium foil a very sorry burger came out with blackish unidentified bits shooting from the bun in every direction. After the first bite I decided that was also the last. The blackish things turned out to be a mash of meat, burned cheese, pickles, cheap fat and onions, the taste was absolutely revolting. While the outside is burned the inside of the burger is little cooked and it is there where the true horror lies… the cheese is truly something I never have tasted before… it is simply inedible with the smell of rotten milk and raw cooking oil of the cheapest sort. In the bin it all went. Chips are decent enough although very salty and excessive seasoning make you feel you are eating a plant of oregano and rosemary. Anyway. I seriously would consider anything else before you end up here.

We ordered the classic cheeseburger, breakfast burger, and a side of fries.

Both burgers arrived looking pretty squished (see photos). It reminded me of that meme where it looks like some fast food places punch your burger before serving it.

Flavor-wise, the classic cheeseburger tasted just like a standard cheeseburger you could get anywhere—nothing particularly memorable. The breakfast burger came with bacon, egg, and cheese—similar to what you’d find in a typical breakfast wrap. The flavor was decent, but it’s the kind of thing you’d try once out of curiosity, not something you’d come back specifically for.

The fries were nicely seasoned with a good balance of salt and spice.
Very thoughtful they offer wet wipe.

Overall, the atmosphere was great—clean, tidy, and spacious—with super friendly staff.
Unfortunately, the burgers and fries were a bit too ordinary to stand out.

Whatever is on the fries! It’s so nice!

We went with our almost 3 year old on a Sunday, it was quiet and plenty of room for a an energetic young one! She loved the fries too!

The burgers were amazing, not over the top. The tendies were also really good! The secret sauce was the best dip!

Price was great for a meal deal. Just over £20 for 3 of us to be fully stuffed!

Will be back!

Food was very good, the burger was a little greasy but very tasty. The fries were cooked perfectly, salted nicely and had a herby flavour (possibly rosemary) which I could have done without but didn’t spoil anything. The star of the show for me was the chicken tenders, good sized, juicy and a lovely light crunchy coating. Would definitely eat here again.

I went to Dougs this evening, 5 October.

The lady at the till was very polite, welcoming and helpful.

I explained to her that it was my first time there and she went through the menu with me and even made a suggestion.

The burger was okay. I would say it was just a wee bit too greasy for my liking but I ate it as I was hungry. Overall, I enjoyed the meal.

The restaurant was clean too along with the toilets.

The chips were excellent!

Burger was dry, bun was crushed. Not sure what the point of this place is. Better off going to a takeaway, or the donner place across the road
