“Come for the Food, Stay Because the Margarita Won’t Let You Leave”
Ernesto’s Fine Mexican Food absolutely delivered — and by “delivered,” I mean they started my evening with a large margarita strong enough to make me briefly bilingual and temporary forget my woes and my name. Muy strong. Muy happy. Muy worth it.
The service was fantastic from the moment I walked in. Friendly, fast, and the kind of attentive where you feel like familia, taken care of without someone hovering like a helicopter parent at a middle‑school dance.
Now, the food: I went all in on the brisket and beef enchiladas, plus rice and refried beans. The brisket enchiladas were the kind of cheesy, savory perfection that feels like a hug from abuela. The rice and beans did exactly what they were supposed to do — support the main event like the world’s most reliable backup dancers.

Great service from the staff. Really good TexMex!! Stopped by for my first time there this evening. A great value for the money. Had a great dish with 2 cheese enchiladas with sliced fajita skirt steak on top with rice and beans. Quite tasty. Staff was super attentive. Will definitely be back!

I’m not a big fan of Mexican food but Ernesto’s changed my mind.
We started off with some drinks, since my stomach only agrees with Vodka, I requested a premium margarita with Vodka base but not tequila. Chris then made me the BEST margarita ever!! He even came check on me for feedback, of course I told him how much I liked it!
For food:
Beef nachos – great!
— Tender meat and cheesy
Bacon wrapped shrimp – great!
— bacon crispy and shrimp perfectly cooked
Grill tilapia – great!
— garlic lime sauce is delicious
Service was awesome as well. Pamela was friendly and attentive. Most importantly, she got our order right and food arrived quickly, and thank you Pamela for relaying my request of drink resulting a prefect margarita.
We’ll definitely go back. Highly recommended.
UPDATE: Went there twice more after first review, and you know what? Everything was GREAT!!
All I can say is, their food is GOOD! Tried all protein, chicken, steak, shrimp, fish, ALL GOOD!!
Service: Jonathan, Paloma, Louis, all friendly but not in your face kinda attentiveness.
If you have yet been there, give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

We love this place so much. We have been coming here for a very long times. Probably 7 years or more a few times a month. Their food is great. My favorites are the enchiladas, chimichanga, their quesadillas and nachos are great, and I also love their enchiladas tejanas. They have white queso which is unusual and awesome. Their staff is fantastic and we’ve gotten to spent of know them over the years. We love eating there and it feels like home.

I finally found a great Tex-Mex restaurant my wife likes too! We have been 3 times now, and the food has been consistently awesome: Steak, Enchiladas, Fish, Shrimp, Poppers, all good. We keep trying new things each time, and they keep amazing us. The wait staff has always been friendly and prompt, with the food and drinks always arriving promptly. The various tequila margaritas are all very tasty, and the bartenders make a custom mango drink with vodka that my wife loves. On our last visit, Paloma, noticing that we were repeat customers, stopped by the table to say hello and thank us for our patronage – a nice, sincere sentiment. This is our new go-to place for Mexican cuisine.

Edgar is the guy you should have as a host! It was my son’s birthday celebration that we went to celebrate. The food was excellent and we had not had it this good in Frisco/Dallas area from last 5 years.
Edgar spoke just a bit of English but he was flawless in understanding our requests and his service was perfect to a T. The food made it awesome and nothing that we ordered was below our expectations. When the food is excellent and it is upscale by impeccable service , you are left very happy. Thank you Edgar for majing our day special. We will come back soon!

Great first visit to Ernesto’s last night! Our server Edgar was prompt, attentive and friendly. He made good suggestions on food and drink. We were there celebrating a friend’s birthday and had four adults and four kids there. The overall value of the meal was very high with the bill being just under $200 including two appetizers and 2-3 margaritas for each adult.

Great Mexican food in McKinney! They are fast to get your food out and they haven’t cut corner on the quality of food after Covid – like other restaurants. The staff is nice, friendly and accommodating. Great place for lunch or dinner and the prices aren’t over priced – like some Tex-Mex restaurants. I’ve been eating there for over 4yrs and everything/everyone is always great. Be sure to tip well!
