I would have gave 5 stars for the food but the washougal roll I ordered didn’t have the crab salad in it. They simply forgot it. The nice server gave me a small discount on it and offered to fix it but I noticed too late and didn’t want to bother with it.
Other than that the food was really good. Great prices and delicious food. The cucumber salad was a must try!

This was my first time here, and the place was lovely. Food came relatively quickly, and the calamari was well seasoned. The seared salmon nigiri almost melted in my mouth, was absolutely amazing.
25 years ago you wouldn’t have seen a place like this in downtown Washougal, but it’s a nice surprise to find.
Overall everything was great, however I knocked off one star for it taking them 10 minutes to notice I was out of drink, and then another 5 minutes once she asked what I had, to actually bring me another.
I’ll gladly come back through. Worth.

Do not get sushi takeout! The sushi we got was horrendous. Salmon was little bits that were scraped off the skin with white skin bits still attached. It was so chewy and gross. The tuna as a complete crime! Hacked little odd bits with tendon tissue. The salmon roe nigiri was small with very little roe. And it arrived in an oversized boxe w the roe all spilled over. They obviously have no respect for take out orders and just use the absolute end bits worst parts of fish that should never be on sushi! In all honesty I removed all the salmon and tuna that didn’t have sauce and fed it to my cat. No joke. I have 0 respect for this establishment.

The super fresh shrimp tempura and the delightfully crisp sunomono are the stars here at ASAKA!!!!!!
The green tea was from Costco and very nice.
Brew it lightly and add a bit of honey don’t squeeze the bag it makes it bitter.
Miso soup is prepackaged so skip that…5 teeny tiny pieces of tofu…however $3.00 for a small portion is acceptable.
Skip the spring rolls too, which are prepackaged and have very very mushy vegetables inside.
Dennis is a decent server.
He informed me that he is a sushi chef.
Helping out when the server is a no show.
I tipped 20% anyway.
(He needs a service tutorial) ….
Dennis is honest and answered all my questions about the origin of the food,he could have given me false information!
(I am pretty savy about frozen prepackaged products.)

Came here with my family and was not disappointed with the quality of the sushi or the presentation on a giant sushi boat. The flavors were delicious and the staff were great, even when we can in an hour before closing and ordered this amount of sushi. We also ordered calamari and crab puffs for appetizers, which were both perfect cooked with good flavors. The Thai ice tea was yummy as well. Prices were a little on the spendy side ($15+ per roll), but worth it in my opinion!

We have eaten here a few times now, and the service and food is always solidly good. I wasn’t ‘amazed’ by anything, but don’t let that deter you. I would definitely recommend stopping in and trying out Asaka: the service is prompt and friendly, fish is fresh and well presented, and the menu is quite expansive (I haven’t tried the ramen yet, that’s top of my list next time).
We had the jalapeno bomb appetizer, tuna sashimi, hamachi and sake nigiri (pictured )the Volcano roll and the Salmon King roll (both pictured). Definitely more food than 2 people needed, but we wanted to try a lot of things. I would order all of those things again
