We really loved the old K & L Bistro so in 2024 we went to see what the new owners had down with the place. It was kind of a mixed bag. The new decor lacks the warmth that I like. Service was a bit spotty but okay. The menu did not not appeal to me but my wife like the selections. She loved her fish I was underwhelmed with the pork chop and we both loved the halibut ceviche and focaccia pull apart.the Etna Rosso wine was tasty.

Enjoyed the atmosphere and excellent service. Unfortunately the food lacked flavor and was pretty ordinary. I was looking forward to the pavlova (an Aussie dessert) but it was shockingly hard and stale! It should be light and fluffy meringue, if you know it. Cocktails and fries were very good.

Decided to give Goldfinch a try while visiting the local area. I want to start off by saying our waitress was amazing. She made us a personal list of places to visit in the area.

But moving past that, the food wasn’t my favorite. We started off with focaccia bread and the rosemary was overbearing. My favorite dish was the butter poached potatoes. Light but savory.

For dinner I got the grilled 10 oz angus hanger steak. It comes with caramelized peppers and potato pave. The steak had a weird taste to it and the peppers covered the dish which ruined it in my opinion. The red wine sauce took away from the cut as well. I didn’t love the dish. When the server assistant came over to ask if I was all set, I said yes, and she insinuated a box and I said “no thank you” .. So she threw my fork onto the plate, rolled her eyes and stormed away. I thought that was a bit rude.

For the price-point, and food selection, I wouldn’t come back. For the cocktails and kind waitress, I would visit again!

Perfect for date nights, small parties, and girls’ dinners, Goldfinch checks all the boxes—from ambiance to food options, yummy cocktails and mocktails to a well-curated wine list, and can’t forget the attentive and personable staff. I highly recommend ordering a few appetizers and mains to share to help balance all the different flavors. The hangar steak, calamari, and pull-apart focaccia are all must-haves! Looking forward to visiting Goldfinch again the next time we’re in town.

We got the calamari and the foccacia bread, and let me tell ya, it is SO GOOD! we also got the chocolate cake and I am not the biggest chocolat cake fan, but this was the best one I have had, even better than the one from Matilda! So if you decide to go here, definitely do!!!! The space was super nice and fancy but not to fancy, the service is great and the waiters are very nice. This restaurant is a 10/10 no hesitation.

6 cocktailer foodies tried a new place last night night – Goldfinch. Great cocktails, extensive and creative menu that delivered and attentive service. In fact the menu had so many creative offerings, it was hard to choose. We ended up trying many small plates and splitting one large. There wasn’t a mediocre plate in the bunch! 6 out of 6 said they would come again. Bonus – The Third Pig, a favorite Craft Cocktail hang out is right across the street for a nightcap!

What a fabulous find, local everything from the food to staff to other diners. Possibly best calamari and ever. Our sever Maggie who is French and is discerning didn’t steer us wrong it is the best calamari ever!

Goldfinch features beautiful decor and a great ambiance, though it can get a bit noisy.

What We Ordered:

Fire-Roasted Beets (11/10) – A standout dish! The caramelized yogurt, pistachios, and quick-pickled onions created a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

Grilled 10oz Angus Hanger Steak (9.0/10)
Well-prepared and shareable. The potato pavé and grilled broccolini complemented the steak beautifully. The gratin was good. Don’t burn it too much, ha ha
I’d suggest serving the red wine shallot reduction lightly on the plate with extra on the side.

Chocolate Cake (9.5/10) – The white chocolate ganache was smooth and indulgent, but the hazelnut crunch was a bit too hard for my taste.

Ginger Turmeric Mocktail (9.5/10) A vibrant, flavorful drink. Reducing the amount of ice would allow the bold flavors to shine even more.

Goldfinch delivers an elevated dining experience with bold flavors and thoughtful pairings. A few minor tweaks could make it even better, but overall, it’s a place worth revisiting!

Would absolutely eat here again! The food was divine, and the chefs cooking in the open kitchen were absolutely amazing. The chef was very kind, and more helpful than the server was in terms of the dishes. The pork and the swordfish are delicious, as well as the ahi tuna and ceviche.

To be fairly honest host was unhelpful. When we called to make reservation, she had said there wasn’t one. We booked a table online instead, which is surprising. When we arrived she wasn’t very inviting either. Anyways, woman who served us didn’t introduce herself, and barely spoke to us during the meal, and wasn’t very friendly throughout the meal. Our waters were never refilled, nor was our plates removed promptly when we finish our dishes. It didn’t effect our experience, however I think the owners should know that their front of house staff may need to be reminded that being friendly and inviting does a lot to make the experience overall enjoyable. When you are paying $200+ for a meal, the service should be just as important as the food.

The food was the only reason I will return.

Lovely collection of menu items, with plenty of vegetarian and carnivore dishes to choose from. The beets and calamari stood out, but eggplant was a top contender.

Fun and lively atmosphere, decorated with subtle flair and eclectic touches. A bit noisy, but that’s part of the allure.

Very helpful and pleasant service. Owners frequent the floor and pull their weight, which shows in the resulting excellently trained staff.
