The RI Food Dude
Wow – what an amazing dinner! Every element of the evening was top-notch, from the food to the service. Our server, Larry, was attentive, genuinely personable and provided excellent service.
I started with the Salerno Sidecar ($14), and it might just be one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. It struck a flawless balance between sweetness and bitterness, with an incredibly smooth finish that made it dangerously easy to sip.
For my entrée, I chose the house-made gnocchi ($29), and it was divine. Larry mentioned they make it from scratch, and it absolutely showed—each bite was like a soft, pillowy cloud, perfectly complemented by a rich, flavorful sauce.
We all shared bites of each other’s dishes, and not a single plate disappointed. I sampled their chicken Toscana, chicken Milanese, rigatoni Bolognese and fettuccine scampi. Each one bursted with freshness and layered with flavor. You could taste the care in every dish.
Inside is very clean, has a very inviting atmosphere. Such a nice place and I highly recommend.

Don’t under estimate this restaurant hiding below the Holiday Inn at the tower. The food is excellent. Wish I hadn’t waited this many years to try it.

We had a great meal with great service tonight at Locanda. My wife had the Parpadelle Bolognese and I had the little neck clams over fettuccini. Both meals were excellent. We started with the fried Roman artichokes and they were so good!! Our server was so attentive and friendly. A+++

It started with the hostess who was just lovely. Then our server Garrett was just a total Gem and the food was amazing! So delicious and tasty. I had leftovers and even after reheating the next day for lunch it was just as good. Made me want to go back to Locanda for more. The server really made the dining experience wonderful but it was nice to see the entire staff participate in the service of their customers between food running to clearing plates to cleaning tables near by. The entire staff worked as cohesive team. You completely forget it’s attached to a hotel on the side of a highway. That’s the only reason I didn’t give the atmosphere a 5 star review.

Amazing authentic Italian food. I was with a coworker who is Italian and been in U.S. for 10 years and he was also very impressed and actually order a whole loaf of this and ate the entirety after eating almost the entire first loaf by himself.

I hate giving restaurants bad reviews; however, this place was by far the worst restaurant I’ve eaten at in years. My wife ordered a filet that cost 52.00. Mind you, we’re certainly ok with paying that price, but when the steak came out looking like something you would get from Applebees, tops, I have a problem with that. Credit to however runs their website/social media, because you’d think you were eating at a 5 star establishment. Please don’t get fooled by what you see online.
They did take the steak off the bill so I give the restaurant props for that. Other than that, I’d rather eat at McDonald’s and that’s not an exaggeration. Get your stuff together!

I’ve eaten at plenty of Italian restaurants throughout my life, hands down the best. The food took a little long but after getting our entrées I understood why…absolutely amazing. My wife almost always complains of her pasta being bland this was not the case. When I don’t hear a peep out of her that’s usually a good sign. The dipping sauce for the bread and calamari were so tasty I wanted to order a side to eat by itself. We were definitely hungry so we’re gonna have to go back just to be sure it wasn’t in our imagination. My compliments to the chef everything was perfect from apps to dessert.

Eat here. You will have no regrets! Everything we tried was amazing – we ordered a little of everything – the pastas were so fresh even the bread that was initially served was so fresh and light. You will love the chef – he genuinely cares about your dinning experience and takes care in every dish.

Sat at the bar and a great bar. Excellent food. I had the butternut squash ravioli special and my husband had the orecchiette pasta with sausage. Bartender made a great cosmopolitan. It was a bit pricey but what else is new! Given it’s an Italian restaurant, maybe some Italian music playing in the background? Just something to add to the atmosphere.

Truly a hidden gem guys!! They have an amazing chef serving the freshest and delicious appetizers and entrees! Chicken soup special perfect for a cold night. Meatballs and their sauce were outstanding and for entree I had an amazing scallop and mushroom pancetta rissotto. My wife had Shrimp scampi with their house made pasta!!
