Great local chippy there always busy, so that tell you a lot. Been using this place for years , the odd delivery is late but no more than other places and it’s very rare . Overall I think its the best in chester

After the previous excellent experience – we were really let down on Christmas Eve. Using their website and their third party service to order food, I requested a specific delivery time and this wasn’t met. When I phoned up the lady couldn’t be less bothered, simply telling me that they had people in the shop who were of more importance to them and that we were in a queue, which is strange because I ordered the food at 6pm for an 8pm delivery. It’s now 815pm. How big a queue did they have? The least I would have expected us some courtesy to let me know it would be late. I then phoned back to cancel the order as it was now pushing 30 mins after the delivery point. This time an English lad picked up and decided it was a laughing matter and wanted to joke about. Eventually the food turned up an hour late. It’s really really unacceptable and I won’t be coming back – despite the food being absolutely brilliant. Service is just as important in this industry.
The food gets five stars, the rest gets zero. It’s very sad to have to leave such a negative review of a local business but the service is the reflection here and to simply offer no sincere apologies or courtesy isn’t acceptable.

Ordered a meal from kam xin Chinese takeaway. We ordered a quarter pound cheese burger, chicken and sweetcorn soup and a chicken chow mein. The burger was nearly cold, it was a microwave job and the bun was half the size of the burger, we found a small lid in the soup after we had consumed, the chow mein was just edible as it was just warm. We order food from here a lot. We won’t be ordering again. I will add that customer service is very poor, pure lack of respect. We find this a disgusting service. Read other reviews, clearly not learning from mistakes at all. Very sad to see.

It’s cheap and you get a lot of food but unfortunately we couldn’t finish it. The food tasted very bland, was all very chewy and none of it tasted fresh (I appreciate not everything will be fresh at a Chinese but this tasted like it was days old). The fried rice was about the only dish we could stomach. It would be great to see them actively try to improve their food quality standards.

Came in and ordered crispy shredded beef, as well as some soup, rice and prawn crackers. Everything was spot on, except my dish, the crispy shredded beef. Instead, I was given what can only be described as squidgy, rubbery, flat pieces of beef.
I rang Kam Xin to try and resolve the issue. The person who answered the phone was very dismissive, and told me that they don’t serve crispy shredded beef in cantonese sauce. Nobody mentioned this when my order was taken. I was offered no resolution by the takeaway, and the dish went to waste.
I’ve been eating from Kam Xin for a long time, so it’s extremely frustrating to be treated so unfairly, and I will not be coming back.

We placed an order at 4.48pm. Delivery time stated to be 5.30pm..
Called them at around 6 and they said it was out for delivery… same again at about 6.30, then 6.46, 7.15 and so on…
Each time they said it was out for delivery..
Then they reached out to the driver, who said he didn’t have the order, but will prepare food and get it to me as a priority..
45mins later I call and ask where it is. They then said ‘oh do you still want it?’ Then suggested that they called me and I didn’t answer (which was rubbish)… I then asked to cancel my order, but she wouldn’t and said she was sending the food.
Eventually got it 4 hrs after ordering.
Not only are they incompetent, but very deceitful.
Will never use them again.

They obviously take on more orders than they can manage.
Instead of letting people know they can’t fulfill an order in a certain time, they choose to keep you waiting and wondering what has happened and Hope you put this down logistical issues.. The reality is that they probably want your money and won’t give it up… even if it does ruin your whole evening, as it did ours.

Ordered from here this evening and was very impressed. We got the sczechuan beef, special curry, sweet & sour & a few sides. Really delicious! And sooo much food!
