Legends Halal Grill earns a solid 4-star rating, thanks to its quality halal offerings, but there are a few areas where the experience could be improved.

The honey butter chicken sandwich impressed with its perfectly cooked chicken and a delightful hint of sweetness from the honey butter—but for $8, the sandwich was a bit on the small side. The samosas were crispy and flavorful, and the fries hit the mark as a reliable side.

I also tried the combo platter featuring chicken, gyro, rice, and salad. While the flavors were good and the ingredients were fresh, the portion sizes left something to be desired. The fish strips didn’t fare any better; they were dry and lacked meat, and a side of tartar sauce might have saved the dish.

An off-putting moment came when a worker—who appeared to be a manager—sat at a nearby table on break, watching as I ate. This unusual situation slightly marred the otherwise relaxed dining atmosphere.

Overall, while the initial $35 price suggested great value, the smaller portion sizes and occasional missteps in presentation prevented the meal from feeling like a perfect deal. Still, for those seeking quality halal food with a few tweaks needed here and there, Legends Halal Grill is definitely worth a visit.

Inspect your food before you leave.

I ate here a few times and it was fine but the last time I had hair in a sandwich I ordered.
I ordered samosas and a sandwich and ate the samosas in the restaurant before leaving. I walked to a library 10 minutes from there and started eating the sandwich when I saw it. The chicken was already smaller than I expected but I was just going to deal with it until I saw that. I tried to call before I had to walk all the way back over because it was cold outside and I wasn’t going to stay in the restaurant after either.
No one answered so I walked over. I didn’t want to carry the nasty sandwich since I was so close to eating a hair off of it, so I took pictures of it and threw it in the trash.
When I spoke to the manager, I didn’t yell or get disrespectful but he was being condescending telling me “I been making food for 30 years. If hair fell into the 350 degree oil it would burn and disappear.”
When I said “so hair could’ve fell in?” He didn’t answer the question and continued to talk down to me. He didn’t believe the pictures I showed even after showing him multiple photos. He said I have to physically bring it in to prove it.
He said everyone was wearing a hat there’s no way hair could’ve fell in. He had a chest-length beard with ‘no netting’ on hanging from his face and I stared at it silently after he said that.

I attached the pictures I showed him that he said were not sufficient.
I came back again later with my father and he was giving the same excuses but without the condescending tone. He started saying he didn’t say anything to me (he was talking way more than I was for both interactions) after I asked him if he thought I was lying. He never answered the question. He kept cutting me off when I told him what he said and kept talking about how the hair would’ve burned and showing my dad his restaurant reviews. Then he implied it was AI generated.
I showed him a picture of it in the trash cause he seemed to believe I ate it and came back to just to get my money.
I’m not coming back after that. I got treated like a scammer because I didn’t notice a hair in my food (which shouldn’t have been there in the first place) before leaving the store.
I got the impression he couldn’t believe they could ever make mistake during the entire interaction.

The owner is phenomenal and super kind and charismatic. He makes the place feel like home and the employees are all sweet and smiles. The food is great and they have added lots of options. The nashville chicken sandwhich is my favorite thing here but if you want something healthy I recommend the chicken over rice. 10/10 reccomend spot to check out especially if you’re hungry late at night!

Went to lunch with a student who suggested this spot. I have to say he made a GREAT recommendation! The food was amazing! The best chicken cheesesteak and fries I’ve had in a long time. Think I might have to make this spot a weekly lunch stop.

Visited Legends Halal Grill (3711 Campus Dr) and ordered a chicken gyro with fries. Portions were generous, veggies were fresh, and there was plenty of tzatziki. The fries were solid, and the red shredded chicken was good—but the overall chicken flavor felt a bit mild. I personally prefer a more marinated profile (turmeric/Greek seasonings). Decent meal and friendly service, but I left wishing for bolder seasoning. Solid 4 stars.

I’ve been coming here for the past 2 yrs. But I particularly didn’t like the last two visits. I usually get a gyro bowl over rice. They had a young gentleman working there before but they have two ladies working there now. The first time they forgot to put cucumbers and tomatoes in the bowl and it was just lettuce. The second time the gyro was overcooked. That might have been my last time eating there.

A satisfying meal after watching an outdoor football game with the Maryland Terrapins. I highly recommend their chicken over rice. I saw a sign that they open will 2am. Great place for the late night munchies.

My partner and I were at a conference at the nearby conference centre and looked for somewhere nearby for a quick lunch – was delighted by the quick service, great price and fantastic food – we both had, great very full, gyros – all fresh ingredients and amazing flavour. I would recommend a bib however, they’re a little messy and you don’t want to miss any of that goodness.

One of the best halal places near College Park, but their attitude has gotten worse recently! If you can’t take feedback, how will you make sure your customers are happy? Try listening to them! I had the same experience before, and unfortunately, it happened again.

The workers are very kind and treat every customer with care. The food is always consistently good and they always get customizations correct. Their chicken over rice and ice cream is my favorite.
