I had the pleasure of visiting Rays Thunderbird Tavern recently and I must say, it was a delightful experience. Jacob, our server, provided exceptional and attentive service throughout our visit. It was evident that the tavern had recently reopened after facing some challenges related to business ownership, but they have truly managed to turn things around.
One of the highlights of Rays Thunderbird Tavern is their revamped menu, which now includes a variety of finger foods. While these options were delicious, I would suggest adding some healthier choices to cater to a wider range of preferences. Nonetheless, the prices at this establishment are incredibly competitive, especially when it comes to their drinks. I was pleasantly surprised to find that a Bud-Light was priced at just $2.75, even outside of happy hour.
For my meal, I ordered the chicken tenders, which came with a side of delicious fries. I expected the typical dry and thin bar food, but to my delight, the chicken tenders were meaty and moist. The seasoning was just right, not overly salted. My only recommendation would be to serve a few ounces more of sauce or provide an extra container, as the tenders would benefit from a little more sauciness.
In addition to its other offerings, Rays Thunderbird Tavern boasts several pool tables and a couple of arcade games. This adds an extra layer of entertainment for those looking to have some fun while enjoying their time at the tavern.
If you’re a fan of karaoke, you’re in luck! Fridays at Rays Thunderbird Tavern are dedicated to karaoke nights, where you can showcase your singing skills or cheer on your friends as they take the stage. It’s a fantastic opportunity to let loose and have a blast with fellow patrons.
On Saturdays, the tavern takes it up a notch with a live DJ starting around seven in the evening. The energetic beats and lively atmosphere make for a memorable night out. Whether you’re dancing the night away or simply enjoying the music, the live DJ adds an extra touch of excitement to your weekend.
With pool tables, arcade games, karaoke, and a live DJ, Rays Thunderbird Tavern truly has something for everyone. It’s the perfect place to unwind, have some fun, and create lasting memories with friends. So, gather your crew and head over to the tavern for an unforgettable evening of entertainment.

Came by after seeing an episode of Bar Rescue on this place. Really good service and cold beers, I had left my bike key on so it was dead, the owner came out and find jumper cables for us. Helped is hook it up and get started. A really nice guy and could be a fun spot. Big enough for a large party.

Kayla is part owner and the chef from Texas who inspired the slow-cooked real Beef Tacos (not hamburger)that literally are the best Bar tacos if not best tacos in the area!! 2 tacos for@$10. Lauryn pronounced (La-Ren) gave awesome customer service. I love to give a shout out to those who support the military and Kayla makes sure the Frontline get a discount. I would highly recommend Thunderbirds under new ownership.

Seriously good pizza. It’s thin crust fyi. But there is something about their sauce that makes it very tasty. I’m from NY and I keep going back! It’s across from Ford plant and they allow smoking so I wouldn’t really call it kid friendly. Nice size bar and pool tables.

Only some tables had ppl, so you’d think fast service. NOPE! We try doing a bar rescue tour! Have made it to many. Well Don was a genious! He knew he had a new bar, in a perfect spot & a goldmine. The genious part was, he sold it & made bank. Now it’s name has changed & Ray owns it! Opens when it wants, def isn’t the 15 min meal as planned. Heck, 10 min & ya may be noticed. Guyg was ok helping us & the girls aren’t as kind or fast as on tv, or the same ppl. Maybe you need to sit at the bar! It changed & not for the better. Ppl saying John should come back are insane. You bought a perfect bar, in perfect location. Just because you don’t give a crap, um John can’t fix that! As seen majority of places close because ppl go back to being trash & not caring. They sell it & the new person can’t run it or it’s just typical idgaf. It was on tv & ppl will visit, realise it was stupid of John to do! Trying to find memory card to show photos! He just did 1 in Michigan about an hr away. They to went right back to a trash spot! John find real ppl, make them sign they can’t sell or change the name, food or drinks for 2 yrs. Otherwise they owe you all expenses occurred. As of this place, make them lose all ties to your name. Again, horrible place & don’t waste your time. Yes owner, now write your excuses & lies below.

Drinks are good and gold, I had the fried chicken tacos. I loved how crunchy they were but they need to change the fry oil more often. The chicken tasted like beef , salsa is good. I’ve only eaten there a couple of times. Not fair to judge too high or low, till I’ve tried more of their menu.

Such a nice restaurant and bar, located across from the Ford plant. Their daytime bartender, Angie, is very knowledgeable, attentive oh, and has personality Plus. The service is fast, and their food is really good. They bring in a good crowd from the Ford plant. I will continue to go back because of these reasons, and because the bar wear of there that I used to frequent, JC’s, I will no longer go to. Reasons due to being unsafe for women, their bias, bigotry & mean girl attitudes & poor management.

We stopped in on way back to hotel after Big12 bball and ordered a beer and pizza to go. Awesome pizza!! We would have stayed for couple more beers if it didn’t smell so much like cigarette smoke.
