If breakfast had a hype man, it would be HoopHouse Sourdough Bakery & Café.

I walked in thinking I’d “just grab a quick bite.” Rookie mistake. I left questioning every other breakfast I’ve ever eaten.

Let’s start with the Croque Madame. This isn’t a sandwich — it’s a life event. Smoky ham, melty cheese, that perfectly runny egg on top like it just won a beauty pageant. I cut into it and angels started singing in sourdough. If Paris and New Jersey had a brunch baby, this would be it.

Then the Biscuits and Gravy showed up like your Southern grandma who doesn’t believe in diets. The biscuit? Fluffy. The gravy? Peppery, rich, and unapologetically smothering everything in sight. I considered asking for a blanket and taking a nap right there.

Now let’s talk about the Loaded Home Fries. These aren’t a “side.” These are the main character. Crispy potatoes, bacon, cheese, scallions, fried egg, sour cream — it’s like they looked at a baked potato and said, “You’re not trying hard enough.” Every bite felt illegal in at least three states.

And the Wild Pancakes? Absolute chaos in the best way. Caramelized fruit, sweet cream, fluffy sourdough pancakes that taste like they’ve been training for this moment their whole lives. I told myself I’d save some for later. I lied.

Final verdict: Come hungry. Wear stretchy pants. Cancel your afternoon plans. HoopHouse isn’t just brunch — it’s a full-contact sport, and I’m happily undefeated. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Looked through all the 1 star reviews. DONT LISTEN TO THEM!!! It seems like people in the area order the more “exotic” dishes and then don’t have the palette to appreciate them. Not Hoops’ fault you don’t have taste! Service is always amazing and I truly appreciate the unique caliber this place adds to our community

HoopHouse is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the environment feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. The food is outstanding across the board, the scones were perfectly baked, the kimchi fried rice packed bold, comforting flavor, and both the s’mores French toast and banana foster French toast were indulgent without being over-the-top. My personal favorite, though, was the croque madame. easily one of the best I’ve had. You can really taste the care and intention in every dish. The owner is also the chef, and it shows, she does phenomenal work and truly cares about her craft. Service was excellent, everything was top notch, and it’s the kind of place you can’t wait to come back to.

Nice little artsy hole in the wall type of vibe. A little eccentric with a slight hippie vibe. Really cool place. I had to Korean cheesesteak or so it was really good really really good and my girlfriend had the avocado toast. They have a unique menu and the food I had so far was really good.
I won’t give it five stars unless I go there one other time and try something different.
The service was phenomenal. I will say that. Definitely give it a shot for breakfast or brunch.

Short version:

Mouth-watering fresh stimulating dishes, inviting & relaxed modern country atmosphere. Elite customer service and fair prices (quality harvested ingredients) create a space and place to have a savory meal served up by people who appear to genuinely enjoy the craft of creating meals that fuel the body and stir up the spirit. MUST TRY THIS PLACE!

I’m a foodie! This place blew my mind! This place is not only a haven of fresh, clean, made to order dishes but it has an incredible atmosphere!

The food was more than delicious it was healing. I felt the love in every bite. When I came here I felt more than welcomed, I felt valued. The customer service was superb. I requested a specific style of coffee with whipped cream. They did not have the cream on hand but they responded by making the whipped cream from scratch! I couldn’t believe that 1 customer mattered that much to step aside and create a food item from scratch to satisfy the craving! I was so humbled and touched by the grace and love they poured into their craft.

We ordered the loaded home fries, biscuits and gravy, and 4 of their pastry items. Just wow! This place is so unassuming and just shocks you with quality and precise flavor! There’s something wholesome about watching your meal be prepared from raw ingredients (observed dough preparation) !

Thank you guys for making my morning bright! Definitely will be visiting again!

My fiancée and I were in the mood for breakfast and decided to try something new. Although we’re typically a bit cautious when it comes to venturing outside our usual spots, this turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve made. The breakfast menu was on the smaller side(I believe the menu changes on different days), yet every item exceeded expectations. We ordered a cappuccino, coffee, the Jersey Classic Sandwich, and chicken & waffles—and were thoroughly impressed. The homemade bread was a standout, elevating the entire meal. We’ve been talking about this breakfast ever since and have recommended it to all our friends. It’s a great reminder to support local businesses!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!

The waitress provided amazing service and was very pleasant. She was the most pleasant part of our experience. On the other hand, the food was DISGUSTING. None of the food served was edible. The menu reads as high end and well curated but unfortunately the chef (Christine) was unable to deliver. The experience was unpleasant to say the least and she delivered tasteless watered down dishes. To compound the unpleasant experience, our feedback regarding the food was met with a very unprofessional owners egotisitc rants and raised voice. She cut us off everytime we opened out mouth to speak regardless of our very calm approach. It is unfortunate that patronizing and supporting small businesses leaves such a bad taste (literarily and figuratively) in our mouths. The owner is pumpus and uncultured. Being a business owner requires a level of patience, professionalism and composure, all of which this owner lacks. SAVE YOURSELF THE PAIN AND AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!

What a great quaint place. So friendly. Really nice for a relaxing lunch. Daughter and I split the Farmhouse and Pan Bagnat sandwich. So good. Couldn’t decide which i liked more. So many good items to choose from, and all healthy. And the fries were one of the best I’ve had. Very eclectic inside. Deserts looked great, but too stuffed to try. Maybe next time. Really need to try this place. And everyone (workers) smiled and seemed really happy. What a nice change from the chain restaurants. 5 stars.
