One of our local favs! Notable mentions are the fajitas, tamales & enchiladas Oaxacan. The family who owns and runs the spot is wonderful and offers such a warm embrace. They serve authentic recipes with a special charm that keeps us coming back.

So we’re tourists from Florida and we wanted to find a place to eat. In Florida, Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen, but the food here looked authentic instead of general Tex-Mex you come across frequently.
The first indicator of the quality was that the Horchata is made with rice and not powdered mix. Amazing drink and the large is LARGE. I ordered Enchilada Oaxaquenas and was impressed! I’m generally not a mole type of person, but the sauce was more savory than the mole I am used to. Generous sizes, friendly staff, reasonable prices and authentic cuisine has made this my go to stop when I come back.

My GOD, when I say this might be some of the best Mexican food I’ve had this side of the Mississippi river, I’m not kidding. My wife and I moved to Kalamazoo a year ago from the PNW and have been missing authentic Mexican food, so my wife being the amazing researcher she is found this place I was game. We made a trip up to Grand Rapids for the Grand Rapids Rise women’s volleyball team (which in it’s self is another review I must do, because that in it’s self was a blast).
As a date night we went to dinner at Mi Pueblito, and when I tell you I had a life changing plate of fajitas I’m not lying to you. I had the chicken fajitas; the chicken was marinated so good, the veggies sautéed to perfection, the avocado was so fresh and beautifully ripe there was nothing more I could have asked for.
My wife got the street tacos, 2 chicken and one fish. She herself said they were some of the best street tacos she’s ever had, and she grew up in SoCal.
As if the foods weren’t good enough, the sauces are transcendent. The green salsa/hot sauce is amazing! The salsa they give with your chips, also phenomenal!
To top it all off they have frigin tres leches cake!!!! Which in my personal opinion is only second to red velvet cake and raw cookie dough.
If all their foods weren’t good enough their staff is so amazing. Always helpful for extra napkins, top off on drinks, and just all around jovial conversation.
We’ve been twice already, and will be making many more trips up to Grand Rapids for this diamond in the rough. I sincerely hope that your experience is nothing less than what we have had. Please patronize this establishment, they are truly lovely people and the food is well worth the drive from any part of the the state let alone upper midwest.

Overall 5 star experience. I work nearby and frequent for lunch. Super friendly staff and a nice calm atmosphere. My first choice for lunch. Take a look at the photo I posted too. I did nothing but open the container and take a picture. Looks beautiful, tastes amazing. 10/10 don’t go anywhere else

Just came here today with my fiancé and the service was amazing. They have friendly and helpful staff and the building was clean. The food itself was amazing. I got Carne Asada tacos and it was the best and most authentic tacos I have gotten since living in California and from my family! This place is my new go to for delicious Mexican food! Thanks again!

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The tacos were good, but mostly on par with many of the other new taco places in town. However, it was a very good value for the money – affordable prices and relatively generous portions. I’ll definitely be going back.

I ordered the wet burrito and was honestly disappointed. The flavor was very bland and lacked any real seasoning, so it didn’t stand out at all. It was also filled with a lot of rice, which made it feel more like filler than a balanced burrito. I was hoping for something saucy and flavorful, but it just fell flat. Hoping this was an off day, because the dish definitely has potential with a little more attention to flavor.
