We ordered a few things across the board since we haven’t been here before. Started with the eggs, which this time had a pesto, tomato, and balsamic drizzle. I loved them, but they weren’t for my wife. We both ended up getting specials for our main. Wife got an Ahi Tuna with a chickpea stew, I ended up with a New York strip with broccoli and a blue cheese and onion bread pudding. I also picked up a side of the parmesan potatoes with aioli. All of the food was great. I’d say some of the tastes here and there weren’t always for us, but the quality of the dishes were top notch. We’ll definitely be coming back again to try some of the regular menu items.
For the price point, I think this is a great date night spot. PJ’s at Sentryworld across the street is also a great option. I love the higher quality meals and menu variety. I look forward to stopping in again.
I basically was in love walking into the dining room. Soft lighting, not noisy. Our hostess was pleasant and friendly. I’m gluten-free and don’t drink alcohol and there were plenty of options/modifications that could be made for me.
Everything was absolutely delicious. The pre-dinner sampling was a blackberry tea with a watermelon radish – it was so good I meant to ask if I could get a full glass of the tea! The scallops were in the top 3 of best I’ve ever had. And my pork chop dish was mouth watering from start to finish. I know I sound extra but it’s been two years since my last fine dining outing and this was EXACTLY what I was looking for.
I also cannot recommend the Earl Grey Creme Brulee enough. What an exquisite taste and my twin was slightly envious she had not ordered it for herself after taking a bite. I did have a few bites of her White Chocolate Cheesecake with blueberry compote and lemon curd – and that was most certainly another excellent option. Both desserts were also gluten-free!
It truly was a delightful time and memorable for our birthday. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and her lighting candles on our birthday desserts was the cutest thing ever. 100% I will be bringing my friends and family here.
My first impression was the restaurant was fancy and had nice lighting but the seating arrangements were oddly not private at all. I sat across from my husband and had couples a few feet away on either side of us. You could tell there was white noise but it actually made it very hard for me to hear my husband while I could hear the couples on either side of me quite clearly. It was also quite cold.
Service was very good however I understand that it’s all about the experience so from sit down to check we were there for about 2 hours.
We started with drinks and were offered a sample of a new little dish with a cracker, goat cheese and caramelized onions which was so good! We also ordered the special shrimp appetizer and it was certainly the best shrimp we’d ever had. For the mains, we ordered the roasted sweet corn Caesar salad, the elk chop, and the pork pasta. There was a little miscommunication because the salad came out as an appetizer and it was super tiny which ended up being fine because it was nothing special. The pork pasta was bizarre. It was more of a pork soup and basically had zero flavor. The elk chop was amazing and was cooked perfectly. The bread service and mashed potato gratin were also excellent.
We love dessert and though none of the desserts looked good, we ordered the apple coffee cake. I’m not exaggerating when I say this was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Cake was dry and the nutmeg and cinnamon are so overpowering it burned my mouth a little. Honestly a disgrace to desserts and should be taken off the menu. This put a big damper on the entire meal.
Final note-after the first course, I began to feel a little off and I did get fairly sick that evening into the next day. I have a sensitive stomach but I’ve never had issues with high end restaurants.
I’m not against giving this place another chance but I need to emotionally recover from the dessert disappointment so it may be awhile.
I had the smoked pork sausage to start, followed by the goat cheese tortellaci.
The smoked pork sausage was seriously heavenly, the accoutrements combine so well with the sausage. The goat cheese tortellaci was excellent too. Overall one of the best meals I’ve had close to home in the central WI area.
The waitstaff were professional, friendly, and attentive, adding to the whole experience and atmosphere.
Update as of 3/29/24:
If anything, this place has managed to improve upon the near perfection experienced last time. Our hostess, Ellen, was an absolute delight and it always adds something special to our experience when we are lucky enough to have her service. 13/10, can’t wait for the next menu.
