It started off a little rocky. We were greeted warmly and sent up to the 2nd flr dining area where we waited almost 20-25 minutes for someone to get to us. Mind you the dining room was emptying out and another party was being serviced. It wasn’t until we spoke to the manager who was the one that sat us at the table that we ended up getting service. I will admit by that time I had an attitude because it felt like we were being purposely skipped over but I digress. When we did get service it was quick and efficient and warm. The drinks came out quickly. We were a party of three so we had two mocktails, I had the NOLA mule and it was delicious and one of my friends had a Shirley Temple. My other friend and some blue drink I can’t remember the name of but she said it was delicious , it also contained different types of alcohol. The food was delicious and the portions were very healthy portions a very good size for the price. Our server was attentive and had good recommendations. She even had good advice for the upcoming parades. Despite the rocky start I would still recommend this place.

First and foremost the food was great! We all shared charbroiled oysters, the fried seafood platter and the chicken pasta. My only disappointment was the service. It was hard to track our server down when we needed something, especially when they delivered the wrong food at first. I would recommend NOT going when it is busy (e.g., Mardi Gras).

This was first visit to Oceana Grill. We were seated immediately. We had the gator bites for our appetizer. They were fried to perfection. I had the Catfish Platter and my friend had the Taste of New Orleans. The fish platter was very good and big enough that I did not eat all of my food. My friend really enjoyed the Crawfish Etoufee from the Taste of New Orleans. She said if she could change one thing, it would be the jambalaya….she wasn’t a fan. Our server, Alphonse, was great…very personable and attentive. I would definitely dine here again.

There are a lot of exceptional restaurants in the French Quarter in New Orleans. Don’t overlook this one. Our meal and experience were exceptional. Our server, Mara was awesome. The food was hot and delicious. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Check it out, you won’t regret it.

They were packed the day we went. We had a reservation and was told we may potentially need to wait because the tables were taking a while. Luckily we didn’t have to wait.
My husband and I ordered the Cajun corn dip, the crab cakes (appetizer), a cup of Gumbo, and the blackened duck. We got everything fairly quickly. Only the duck took a while but still fast for having every table filled. Everything was phenomenal. We were so impressed with the blackened duck. It was juicy and the fat was rendered well. The corn dip was super tasty and came with plenty of tortilla chips. The crab cakes were the best. My husband isn’t very fond of them but he loved them, especially since it isn’t so heavy on the breading.
Our server was Karla W and she was fantastic, checking on us often without being disruptive. She was kind, informative, and efficient.
We highly recommend this place. We were in and out within an hour on a busy night!

First of all, the service at Oceana is excellent. From the host who seated us to our server, everyone was warm, welcoming, and attentive, enthusiastic, but still very professional.
We ordered the Taste of NOLA, the Seafood Gumbo, and the Oceana Famous Oysters. All three dishes had fairly heavy seasoning. The gumbo, in particular, was on the salty side, though you can tell the flavors and spices were very well layered — if it were just a bit less salty, it would have been outstanding.
The oysters were fresh off the grill, incredibly fragrant, and really delicious. Just make sure to eat them while they’re hot, because once they cool down, the flavor drops by about 60%.
If you enjoy salty food or don’t mind dishes that are on the saltier side, this place is definitely worth visiting.

We had a reservation and were really excited to visit. We started with the charbroiled oysters as an appetizer, and they were absolutely delicious. They come with their own signature creamy sauce, which made them incredibly flavorful.
For our main courses, my wife ordered the Blackened Red Fish, and I had the fried shrimp. The red fish was simply outstanding — honestly one of the best fish dishes we’ve ever had in our lives. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The fried shrimp was also very tasty and well-prepared.
We also want to mention our server, Jordan who was extremely nice and who made our experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, everything exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this place — especially if you love seafood. The oysters and red fish are a must-try!

This place was recommended by a friend. It didn’t disappoint. Our waitress Fiona was an absolute gem. When I had trouble deciding on my dinner she offered to help. She was spot on. My chicken fettuccine was amazing. My husband had red fish with green and mash potatoes, he said everything was great and the greens were the best he has had in a long time. Fiona checked in on us to make sure everything was to our expectations.
