Had great south American fusion food here, every dish was incredible. Definitely don’t miss on your way! We walked in at 6 on a Tuesday with plenty of seating and was full by 7

What a fabulous little place to stop in for a unique cocktail or a tasty appetizer. This spot has a very decent menu that is well curated for and speaks to all the charm Cafe Louis has to offer. The crab ceviche was tasty although slightly high in onion that over powered the crab itself. The overall consistency was perfect for the plantain chips with a very healthy portion of crab. The burger was expertly prepared and quite tasty and the compliment of fries made the meal. The clams were well prepared and the sauce balanced but the interesting flavor for the dish came from the hominy which provided a unique kick to the palate. The steak was juicy and cooked to order, a little on the chewy side but overall a great flavor and the accompanied salad brought out flavors of the meat and complimented the dish well. The overall aspect of the experience was fantastic and the staff friendly and accommodating. The bar looked like a great place to grab a cocktail and have a chat.

Such a pleasant surprise when we traveled to Camden Maine, and stumbled upon this gem.Our favorites were the mussels, scallop ceviche and the Carne Asada plate.

My friends found this place and thought it sounded interesting, so away we went. Honestly, I think the food was OK. It all looked good but tasted average. Seating is very limited and I would highly recommend making reservations. The entrance to the building is also a little weird. You have to walk around to the back to enter.

Great experience at Costa Media! All the food was delicious and the portions were generous. We had plenty to take home. Only tweak I would suggest is coursing the food out a bit. Everything arrived at once for us but we enjoyed it nonetheless!

Cafe Louis Costa Media is hands down some of the best food I have ever eaten. We had made an early reservation and so glad we did because we had the whole place to ourselves for much of our meal, which was a treat. We were greeted right away and the atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming. You can tell that the building has a lot of character and loved the old wood beams that I assume are original.
We were seated in the window seat and got to enjoy the views of Camden while we ate.
We shared a bunch of “snacks” including the radicchio salad (the most unique and light salad), calamari, fries, and Jimmy Nardellos. I wouldn’t have ordered the Jimmy Nardellos on my own, but it turned out to be one of my favorites. Each dish was so good and we raved about each one. We especially enjoyed the “squeaky cheese” as we called it on the fries.
We then shared the mussells and chicken. We all agreed that the chicken was hands down the best chicken we have ever eaten. It had the perfect smoky flavor with delightfully crispy skin.
Hands down a 10/10 and can’t wait to come back next time we are in the area!

First the good part, in terms of flavor, the food was fine. The worst part is how they choose to serve their food. I ordered the vegetarian Posole and it literally came in a 1 inch high saucer like “bowl” – and I use the term bowl loosely. We visited in January, it was really cold out, but inside too. I get that it is an old drafty building, but the staff were wearing knit caps, etc. This soup had no shot of staying warm by being served in a saucer!! I think of all the Mexican restaurants that serve such soup in a nice deep, thick bowl for half the price, which leads me to say why bother coming back! The ratio of broth to dry ingredients in the Posole was also crazy because it was topped with mounds of unseasoned, uncooked thinly sliced cabbage, that you had no hope of ever incorporating into the tiny amount of broth the saucer it was served in could hold. So, we took all that spare cabbage home to the chickens. They had a delicious tasting Margarita – served in a glass COFFEE CUP, not even mug size, like Grandma serving tea size, and they filled the cup with ice cubes higher than the rim. I had to remove ice cubes to just be able to tip it up for a drink. I would be shocked if the Margarita in that cup amounted to even 2 oz and it was $14! Observing bar service of wine and other drinks to the customers that you had to sit very close to, the wine glasses looked more like Aperitif glasses. The menu on the website was completely different from the one offered that night (which should be noted on their website). They had an app of two fish tacos (that were about 2-3 inches long) served on a China tea saucer that made me feel like I was at a 4 year old’s tea party. They tasted ok, but for the price, not worth it. My husband got the burger, which he acknowledged was good, not knock your socks off good, but ok. The fries were thin, crispy, and scant. Overall, it just felt Chintzy – like trying to skimp to save dimes will missing the bigger picture of people willing to spend more for enough to make you feel full. Even more importantly, to keep a good winter service for locals, the food has to be hot, the atmosphere cozy, and you cannot serve Alice in Wonderland tiny tea party bar beverages for the price your competitors serve that are normal size.

Pleasant relaxed atmosphere with casual but polished & knowledgeable staff… planning to share, we ordered the caramelized tangerines and the special- a haddock sandwich w/cabbage as the side. Both were really unique and delicious, I especially enjoyed the side- thinly shaved with a lightly-sweet vinegar dressing. The yogurt with pepitos/etc accompanying the tangerines was an unexpectedly perfect dip for the toasted sourdough. On a side note- due to some error/confusion when ordering we initially were served the Beef Gallitos instead of the tangerines- my primary concern was that someone didn’t get their gallitos- but the kitchen graciously insisted we enjoy them (they were VERY savory & good!) while they quickly whipped up the other dish (which arrived moments later). Overall an excellent meal with unique bang for the buck. We’ll be back for more!

A smooth opening with delicious plates and nicely paired cocktails tells a story of just how experienced they are. Had a great chat with the staff as we enjoyed the Louis Burger and the carne asada. Both were amazing.
Looking forward to seeing them settle in nicely with the community and being a regular.
