Despite the new Asian place in town, Fujiyama is still cranking out some of Fairmont’s best, without the need to brave the construction, awful parking lots, and craziness of Whitehall and The Commons (which may someday be finished, after it finishes off everyones car). Had the tempura for the first time today, and it was delightful. The tempura veggies are to die for. And of course the sushi rolls are always great and on point. Their business is slow right now too so minimal wait for delicious food.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. It was completely empty, and that should’ve been the first red flag. We had a child as our waitress. Another child was running the register. They told us they didn’t have any Michelob, and acted like it was completely wild that we even asked for it. One of the people with us got his food an hour before everyone else, and in total it took an hour and a half to get the rest of the food. We found a maggot in the soy sauce, so we asked the waitress to replace it. She was very rude about us pointing it out. I’m convinced she just took it and brought the same container back to us. Very disgusting. Will not be going back.

Completely empty around lunch time. I got the chicken habachi and the noodles were definetly just spaghetti noodles. server was definitely too young too be working and did not seem to want to be here. the soup just tasted like hot water. My girlfriend’s sushi was very plain. everything was very bland.

We order take out fairly often. The food is good, the prices are fair and the portions are generous. Only complaint is that we’ve twice paid a $2 upcharge for fried rice and noodles and in one instance we got no rice/noodle dish at all and in another we got white rice instead of the noodles we paid for.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place for about a year, but over the past 6 months it has severely gone down hill. The women waiter has an awful attitude, I will however say that the younger is actually pretty nice, sad to give this place a bad review even with him. We have had good food from here, but some very very bad food. The last time we went, the Philly roll had rotten avocado, and the sushi was disgustingly warm. After this l have decided I am done giving this place chances and will make the drive to Morgantown for sushi for now on, I enjoy Volcano’s sushi if you are looking for another place to go.

I am a regular diner here. I always order hibatchi. I love their yum yum sauce and when everything is cooked correctly I’d give this place a five star rating despite the expensive price. Today was the fourth time they served me raw steak when I asked for well done. Not just slightly under cooked, completely raw. My rice had egg shells in it today also. This time I went back and asked them to remake it. I always call and let them know they undercooked my steak and never ask for anything nor do they offer. This time I could not take it anymore and had to drive back. I spend way too much money here for my food to never be right and even tip on pick up orders. I’m giving it a three star based on the wasted money I’ve spent here. Just check your food before you leave and you should be satisfied. Just sucks to have to do that at such an expensive restaurant. If I wasn’t pregnant and didn’t crave their food I would have stopped coming a long time ago.

The staff is friendly, the food is decent considering it’s the only sushi you can find in Fairmont, but the customer service is poor. I spend my money here at least every other week, most of the time more. On a few occasions my order has been messed up. It happens, but sometimes the mistake should be made up for – and it never is here. Today I placed a to-go order because I’m not feeling well enough to sit inside the restaurant. I arrive and find the wrong roll was made. Before the greeter would even let the sushi chef know, she took two phone orders. Then the manager came over and made sure she told the sushi chef to take the other roll out before he put the right one back in the box. So after not wanting to sit in the restaurant, I sat there anyway for 15 minutes. The manager could have not charged me for the roll since I waited patiently for it to be made. She could have given me a discount. Or hey, she could have just let me have the other roll for the inconvenience since it was already made! I’m a loyal customer, to the point that she knows my drink order, etc when I come in. Disappointing because I always tip 20% minimum and always tip on pick-up orders. If a mistake like this happens again and the manager doesn’t make it right, I won’t return.

Went after a WVU basketball game & I will never be back. When we walked in it smelled musty, I’m assuming from the old stained carpet that was in there. We got seated by a literal child. He was maybe 12. Definitely not old enough to be working. The noodles were made from spaghetti noodles & the miso soup was not good. I should’ve walked out when I seen no one else was in the restaurant. Will not be back.
