We arrived in Marathon on Christmas Day and we made our dinner reservations here a few days in advance. This was our first time to the keys and our first meal here. We were absolutely blown away. The service was outstanding. The food was absolutely incredible. Loved the craft drinks and the beautiful view. This location and the experience definitely does not disappoint! Highly recommended if you are looking for a special place to enjoy a wonderful meal with your people.

What an oasis this place was !! Let me start by saying I’m one of those “food allergy” folks that has a hard time finding safe food to eat. Having said that, I need to convey just how great everyone was to deal with.

We started light with the rooftop patio for finger food and a couple drinks one evening. We were served by Ryan and she was fantastic. Snacks were so good we made a reservation in the restaurant for the next evening. The Rhum house did not disappoint. Alex was phenomenal. We discussed my needs and got it all figured out. The food, service and ambiance were all excellent. 11 out of 10.

We’ve been renting a vacation house next to the resort for a long time. Through our visits we’ve watched the continued repairs/renovations/progression over the years and can’t speak enough to the good we see at this place. We’re just sorry we didn’t come to eat sooner. We know better now.

Ps. Ryan’s Margarita was the real winner.

Hands down the BEST dining experience anywhere near Marathon Key. For starters the design is beautiful. The bar is made from hurricane recovered lumber and the wood floors are stunning. The food was fantastic. We started with the most popular roll and had the curry snapper. After dinner we had the best old fashioned’s at the bar. This is a must do. If you like good food then this is your place. They also have a bar with live music on the rooftop.

I have read the reviews and it’s either a 1 star or a 5 star… mostly 5
My experience was an absolute 5 star! The chef suggested my wahoo to be blackened and as I have had this so many times (my favorite fish) it literally was the best I have had… my other half had the filet with the bearnaise and boy, cooked absolutely perfect… we also had the Brussel sprouts… again, just one of the best flavors I have experienced.
Even my expression martini was extremely well made.
For those 1 stars I just think something else was at hand… this was an amazing experience
Even our wonderful waitress doted on us amongst the multiple guests she had.
My compliments to the chef and his entire staff… we are here all the time (part time locals) and can’t wait to return.
Worth the travel and the reservations.
The view is also just amazing.
I’d recommend this to everyone who comes to marathon or even any close by islands…

We arrived just before closing on a holiday Sunday, yet we were warmly welcomed by Noah (I hope I have his name right!), who provided impeccable, friendly service. To be honest, we ate far better—and much more affordably—here than at many “fancy” restaurants in Miami. It seems to be a refreshing trend in the Lower Keys.

We ordered the tuna and beef tartares; both were incredibly fresh, though a touch more seasoning on the beef would have made it perfect. The true highlight, however, was the Angus burger with mushroom and blue cheese cream—it was absolute melt-in-your-mouth perfection. With a great selection of beer and wine and a breezy, nature-filled atmosphere, this spot is a gem. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be back!

We visited this restaurant while in Marathon, as it looked quite elegant from the outside. The atmosphere is very nice and inviting. However, we found the food rather disappointing. The lobster pasta lacked flavor, the sauce tasted like canned tomato, and the small lobster pieces were overcooked and not tender. My husband ordered a steak (about 6 oz.) served with a large portion of frozen fries; unfortunately, the meat was very tough, and it cost $58. The catch of the day also seemed to have been previously frozen, and the chicken dish we tried was also quite bland.

The menu itself felt limited with very few options to choose from. In total, we ordered three starters, three main dishes, and five drinks, which came to $440. For the quality, it did not feel like a good value. While the ambiance is lovely, I would suggest improvements in the food quality and menu variety.

Had a wonderful dinner last night. Started at the bar, enjoyed the banter with Robbie who’s an excellent bartender. He gave us an excellent suggestion for our appetizer, a special sushi roll that was truly delicious.

Our server, Max, was fantastic. She’s friendly, professional and took care of us wonderfully. We ordered the ribeye special and it was cooked perfectly, medium rare as ordered.

This was our 6th time dining here over the past few years, both before and after the menu change. We’ve never been disappointed with our food, and love the new menu.

We’ll be back!

Food was all good, bang bang shrimp, beet salad, and we had fish specials, grouper and wahoo.
We weren’t really thrilled with the cocktail menu, but we each ordered something and altho tasty, very weak in the alcohol category. $19 bushwhacker tasted like a mocktail.

This year, we chose The Rhum House for our company Christmas party, and from start to finish, the experience was outstanding. The staff truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was seamless, keeping us informed, comfortable, and confident throughout the planning process. Communication was easy and prompt, and every question we had was handled with care.

On the evening of the event, the entire team was attentive, kind, and genuinely welcoming, making each of our guests feel special and well taken care of. We began with a cocktail hour on the Palm Deck, followed by a plated dinner downstairs in the restaurant. The appetizers during cocktail hour were excellent, and the meal itself was nothing short of incredible—fresh, creative, and beautifully prepared dishes that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

The atmosphere is unmatched, thoughtfully designed, and truly unique for the Keys. Our group of 50 locals loved every minute of it. Thank you for making our Christmas party so memorable and special. We will absolutely be planning to return next year.
