I’m from Wisconsin n only in town for a concert but let me tell you what this place has the best EVER. I’m gunna have to drive back here once a month for there shrimp tacos thank god it’s only a 6 hr drive one way.

This place is a hidden gem. Homemade heavenly food! Owned by a sweet old lady who cooks everything herself hot and fresh, the front of the house is managed by her son John, who is a delight! The absolute best chimichanga I have ever had. Not only beautiful, but off the chart flavor!! My husband got the surf n turf nachos, and OMG, the steak was beyond anything I’ve ever tasted and melted in your mouth! Chorizo/beef tacos were amazing! The guacamole is so unique and bursting with flavor! The love that this place puts into their food is priceless! You must try this, you will not be disappointed!

If you want amazing food in Ottumwa this is the place to go. A family run restaurant with fantastic service. I learned from talking to John that his mother was the chef. She is absolutely amazing. You can absolutely taste the love coming from her kitchen. My compliments to the chef. Thank you for the amazing meal. From the fresh homemade tortillas to the perfectly seasoned meats. Delicious! I finally got a chance to try this restaurant Friday while in Ottumwa. Fantastic food. Everything tasted so fresh! I ordered several menu items to take home. Everything traveled well and everyone loved the food!
The Chicken Chimichanga was massive! So big and full of flavor. Many places have bland chicken. This chicken was delicious. I love good, fresh chicken that’s cooked thoroughly so you don’t have to worry about getting any raw chicken. I will order this again and again!
The lettuce that came with the Chimichanga was so fresh, too. Might seem insignificant to some people to mention the lettuce, but not to me. I very much appreciate fresh crisp lettuce with no brown or pink spots on it. This lettuce was fantastic and fresh. In the picture you can see the lettuce.
The Birria eggrolls were outstanding!! These weren’t on the menu but I hope they have them when I’m in Ottumwa later this month. So good.
The Garnachas were fabulous. The Beef on these was so very tender. Delicious!
The Beef Chorizo Tacos were fabulous.
The Beef Chorizo Torta was fabulous.
The Chicken Empanada was fabulous.
I forgot to take pictures of the Garnachas and Empanada.
I’m looking forward to trying more menu items! I’ll definitely be adding this restaurant to my stops when in Ottumwa.

The man who took my order was very friendly. We had a very nice visit while I was waiting for my order. My wait was very short, too, for fresh food. I was surprised how quickly my large order was done, yet tasted so fresh. If I lived in Ottumwa I would eat here regularly!

This place is unbelievably so so good. I have tried most of the food they have on their menu and every single time! It’s such an amazing taste. I can’t believe how many times I think about their food throughout the day, constantly waiting for them to open. When I’m hungry this restaurant comes to mind as my first choice to go to. It’s indescribable, inexplicable how good their food is. You won’t regret trying them out if you haven’t been to this restaurant. Try it out! You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent food and friendly service. Chorizo burrito was massive and delicious, full of meat, rice, onions, and cilantro. Carne Asada tacos were moist and tender, and a good three bite size.
