Reviews
Get the OG Fish Taco. It sets the bar. The spicy shrimp taco is also a must and brings just the right kick without overpowering the flavor.
What really stood out though was the owner. Super friendly and genuinely charitable. He gave us fish soup to try and even hooked us up with waters. That kind of hospitality says everything.
No gimmicks. Just phenomenal seafood and great people. Did not disappoint.
We ordered the fish taco plate. It came with fresh tortilla chips that were out of this world. So crunchy and salty and delicious. The fish tacos were so soft and crunchy at the same time. I loved the orange and green sauces. The tortilla was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed every bite.
Price
I’m not the only one bothered by the price, judging by other reviews. For the size of the tacos, it’s expensive. I’ve seen recent pictures of the menu and the prices just keep creeping up.
Atmosphere
It’s a food truck on the side of the road. They have 3 tables and a tiny but of shade.
Service
They confused my order a bit, but otherwise it’s good.
Food
The Saturday special – shrimp and New York steak taco with cheese and bacon and avocado was very good. The fried shrimp taco was also decent. The fish ceviche seemed fresh. I wasn’t a fan of their fish tacos. Not much fish and pretty pricey. Don Bravo in La Jolla still makes the best fish tacos. Also thought that their tortillas in general didn’t taste that good.
Would I recommend?
Sure, it’s popular for a reason.
Will I return?
No, I don’t have a desire.
Auntie in the truck also randomly handed out seafood consomme, which were fuuuuuulll of spices and flavor. Amazing.
It honestly pains me to leave a 3-star review. This was my first time visiting this food truck, and I came ready to support a local business. We placed a pretty good-sized order—3 fish tacos, 3 shrimp tacos, 2 sides of chips, and 1 drink—and we left a generous tip. I even attached our receipt to show this isn’t meant to be harsh, just an honest experience.
When we arrived, there were about six people in front of us. I expected a wait, which ended up being 29 minutes. That didn’t bother me too much—if the food was as good as advertised, I figured it would be worth the time.
Sadly, it just didn’t live up to the hype.
The fish tacos were said to be made with fresh fish, but the batter was heavy and greasy. All I could taste was oil and coleslaw. The overall flavor was bland—no acidity, no seasoning, no balance.
The shrimp tacos were the same story. The shrimp were chewy and overcooked under the batter. Honestly, if you didn’t know which was which, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the fish and the shrimp—just fried grease dominating everything.
On top of that, the setup for customers could definitely use some care. There were only 3 or 4 stand-up tables and 2 canopies for shade. While I waited for my order, I noticed several elderly customers with walkers also standing around with nowhere to rest. It was uncomfortable and honestly a bit disheartening to see.
If they invested some effort into the area where people wait and eat—especially for those who might need to sit—it could make a huge difference. A more welcoming and comfortable space could really help attract and retain customers.
I really hate leaving critical reviews, especially for small businesses. But this wasn’t a cheap meal, and it didn’t feel like it was made—or served—with much love. I hope this is taken as constructive feedback. I want to see this place succeed, but there’s room for improvement.

Never can go wrong with the OG fish tacos. Good portion size, decent price, tastes amazing. The seafood soup they give you while waiting is just divine. Always on point at Kikos. Staff are awesome and friendly.
There is a little canopy if you want to eat there. My family and I just have a little car food party and eat our delicious tacos nearby.
All in all, awesome food, amazing staff, really awesome experience every time.
