This is hands down the best meal I’ve had in Santa Barbara. Every single person in our group, including the kids, could not stop saying how amazing this place is. The kimchi tastes fresh, the miso is savory, the edamame is perfectly steamed ….I can’t wait to go back. As far as the price, this is a steal. Anywhere else with food this good would charge twice as much. Portions are deceptively huge. I easily could have split a bowl. Protein is the perfect amount. Rice is perfectly cooked….just all around magic. Owners are the sweetest people. They must be protected at all costs!
If you don’t like the food here, you don’t deserve it

This restaurant was a nice surprise. The food is made with care of the ingredients and technique, and the flavors are unmatched. Can’t recommend it enough. Mr. Kaz is a 5 star chef in a casual neighborhood place, and his wife is so delightful too. She made our meal so special. Can’t wait to go back.

It’s the most authentic Japanese food I’ve had in Santa Barbara yet.

We were excited to try this new place. Flavors were good, but it’s very expensive for takeout and for what you get. Meals very very low on protein. We spent $100 for 3 people and ended up getting mostly rice and onion.

The illustrations that always come with the food are so cute, and the curry is delicious, but the rice seems a little too watery and soggy. I wish it was a little thinner.
